keur amir restaurant offers all the Senegalese African gastronomy
We found this place via tripadvisor, as Amiens was a mid-point stop in a longer trip between Normandy and the Netherlands. Some impressions: the restaurant is in a gentrifying district of Amiens. When we were there, they also hadn't changed the awning from the prior restaurant. So, we parked with some trepidation and verified the street address, walked in, and...everything from there was awesome. The proprietor speaks excellent English. He explained that the menu varies by day of the week. So, with 4 of us, we pretty much ordered every option on the menu. Almost everything was delicious. There was a fried, uh, something, in the appetizer assortment that the proprietor warned us was "weird" and yes, yes it was. But it was different. Literally everything else was delicious, so much so that it shut up 2 teens annoyed from too much time in the car. Actually so much so that we talked about it for the first hour of the next day's 3 hour drive. Highly, highly recommended. If for some reason you're in Amiens, make a point of eating here

Le Wakam is a very good and nicely decorated restaurant, located in the very charming quarter Leu. It offers a great variety of African dishes and drinks. The waiter is friendly and knows a lot about African music. The food is tasty and spicy. The portions are big, so beware not to loose your appetite after the starters. Next to restaurant, there is a relaxd café where you can enjoy many kinds of rum and reggae music.
