Shikitei is a traditional onsen ryokan. The building is a classic Japanese sukiya-zukuri style. In the hotel restaurant, re-organized in 2015, traditional kaiseki-style meals are offered. The menu changes on a monthly basis. Local and seasonal ingredients, such as sashimi from Sanriku (the ocean off Aomori, Iwate, and part of Miyagi prefectures), local Iwate beef, are used. Shikitei has both indoor and outdoor hot spring baths. The hot spring water contains sulfur.

The room I have stayed which was newly renovated. It's totally amazing, perfect view, quite, comfortable and have nice private onsen in room whch can be adjusted the water temperature. Since we do not know speaking Japanese, however their staffs are polite and try their best to communicate with us in english. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and delicious, really appreciated and thank you to the chef team of their great job. The dinning area is same floor of your room, it is convenience and privacy. Highly recommend to stay there.
