Wonderful little diner. Service and food was great, and fast! Nice, clean, and close to hotels. I’ll definitely be stopping in here weekly. I bet the enchiladas are to die for.

I came to Shorty’s on a recommendation from the front desk clerk at the Best Western. The exterior and parking lot of the establishment are unimpressive; but I’ve learned that some of the best ribs are to be had in roadside places just like this – so my hopes were high. Serena was at the counter and she was very pleasant to speak to; she showed me the board with the “specials” listed, but I had already spotted the spare ribs on the regular menu and I ordered those instead. The side dishes that I requested were not very interesting (the cole slaw was bland and the baked beans had been cooking so long that they were closer to refried beans than baked beans). But, I didn’t come for the side dishes. The spare ribs were tender and flavorful (but not overly so). Yet, I didn’t care at all for the sauce they were slathered in (like Heinz 57 steak sauce that may have been added as an afterthought). By the time I got to my last rib I was wiping the sauce off. Although I doubt that I’ll ever pass by this restaurant again, if I did I would be sure to order the ribs “plain” and add a different sauce (there seemed to be several to choose from on the counter) instead. Serena was a peach and she came around to offer me a refill on my root beer just as the manager was putting up the “closed” sign for the evening. All things considered, she may have been the best part of the experience and the reason for an "average" rating instead of a "poor" one.

I hesitate to eat in most truck stops. Only ate here because reviews were good. Seating area is very small, I do mean really really small. It was sort of late, several other eating options were already closed, maybe moriarity rolls up the sidewalks early. We liked our taco salad, though, and I hesitate to mention it, we chose it because we needed some salad, and taco salad is generally generously loaded up with salad type things like lettuce and tomato but this had little of those fiber bearing nod to something healthy. There was generous amounts of tasty meat and beans, and was good, but in no way can the customer pretend they had a healthy salad.

My husband & I frequented this restaurant, because I could actually eat the food, it was too hot. Made a great Indian taco and coffee mixture drinks, but I kept getting ill, so we had to stop. I do have some allergies, so could have been that, unsure, but just can't go anymore. Great guacamole dip too, in my opinion.

This place is great for road-trippers! Right off I-40 about 40 miles east of Albuquerque. Historic Route 66 location. The restaurant shares space with a dive bar, and I mean that term very positively, referring to the unassuming, local hometown atmosphere and the very nice welcoming people. The menu offered plenty of options, including a chicken fried steak that covered the plate, I saw it, but opted for the New Mexico beef tacos with rice and beans instead. Delicious! Chips and fresh salsa with each meal. Super friendly table service. If you want an alcoholic drink, you will need to go to the bar and order and pay for it there. This was a great experience; don't miss it if you're passing by on I-40!

I was beyond excited to try Blake's for the first time. The girl at the register was so helpful and sweet. I placed my order at 10:41 am. By 11:12 am I canceled my order because they were still making breakfast burritos with no indication my order would be made anytime soon. They appeared to be busy processing call in orders instead of worrying about the customers in the store. So disappointed I never got to try Blake's burgers and now even more hungry!

We visited Sierra Blanc Brewing on Saturday, 3/19, a memorable experience. They have quite a variety of beers on hand and to tate. Amanda made me feel like a friend, helped my wife select a beer (hard to do), and took care of my grand-kids with the Route 66 soft drinks! My grand-kids loved the fact that when going to the restroom they could take a peek at the bottles on the production line. I myself enjoyed a tasty flight of beers. Who knew a Chile could taste so good! My sole purpose for the visit was to pick up some Alien Stout, but I left with so much more - beer, t-shirts, stickers, Route 66 soda and most of all, the feeling that I was appreciated and welcome. Wish you were closer. In addition to the tasting room the have just finished a porch out back.

We were spoiled for choice for breakfast. My 2 egg omelette was delicious. Hubby's oatmeal was steel cut wit added toast. Their young son was helping out over the school holidays, and like his parents was polite and efficient. I see that their lease is up on the 30 June and they will be looking for somewhere else to be. What a shame. I'm sure their regular customers will follow them!

This is new to our area so we decided to try it for dinner. I was a little disappointed at the higher prices. We ordered 2 different pizzas, wings and a salad. For the price I like Dominos Pizza much better! Just my opinion ?

We stopped in for dinner on our trip and looked at Burger King, and pizza hut food just sitting there so we passed. Walked over to the TA restaurant and sat down. Got the menu and ordered drinks, We looked at the buffet and opted for it. The salad bar was fresh and cold, the buffet had pasta, fried chicken, taco's, couple soups. Everything was good and hot and it was 7pm. They kept the buffet filled too. If we are traveling wemwill stop in again.
