Ostrava (Polish: Ostrawa, German: Ostrau or Mährisch Ostrau) is a city in the north-east of the Czech Republic and is the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is 15 km (9 mi) from the border with Poland, at the meeting point of four rivers: the Odra, Opava, Ostravice and Lučina. In terms of both population and area Ostrava is the third largest city in the Czech Republic, the second largest city in Moravia, and the largest city in Czech Silesia. It straddles the border of the two historic provinces of Moravia and Silesia. The population was around 300,000 in 2013. The wider conurbation – which also includes the towns of Bohumín, Doubrava, Havířov, Karviná, Orlová, Petřvald and Rychvald – is home to about 500,000 people, making it the largest urban area in the Czech Republic apart from the capital, Prague.

One of the oldest Italian restaurant in Ostrava, close to Stodolni.Indicated for who wants to taste real Italian food, the chef is Italian and wisely cook for her clients. the pizza is simply amazing, you can say it is like in Italy and also the first plate are lovely.Recommended the Sicilian specialties such as Pizza alla Norma and the Cannoli.Price wise the place, is really within the average price in Ostrava, and every Saturday there is a good sale on the pizzas, akce called in Czech. Definitely will come back and worth a visit.the staff is cordial and really nice. Owners are also pet friendly

A very pleasant restaurant in the biggest mall in Ostrava.Nice servants and polite.Good beer, good food esp the steaks.Rather expensive.All others besides Pittza are available.

We visited the restaurant for a dinner during Easter weekend. It was half empty, tables available.We had a beef tartar as starter, which was very mild and then salad with tuna. All they served was very tasty, even had a chat with the cook to thank him.Overall wonderful experience with great service.

We went here for a pizza and beer when staying at the nearby hotel Maria. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. My pizza, spinach and egg and cheese was good but husbands had what was described as Prosciutto ham but definitely was not the real thing and was some kind of cheap ham- the other toppings were also a bit weird. My other problem with this restaurant was that everyone was smoking at the table- very unpleasant for non smokers- however there were several rooms in the restaurant and it have been easy to find one where there were no smokers.

Avoid it: unless you've never eaten a pizza before. The crust is a bit less done, pizzas are not rich enough (e.g., not enough vegetables on a pizza vegetariana), and prices are high for what they are offering. They don't accept card payment. Service is decent, though (at least some) staff speaks good English. The only thing going for this place is that they are located near the main town square and also offer outdoor seating.

terrible experience!!! Went in this restaurant with my partner as we are currently visiting Czech. We have ordered pizza which was terrible with under-cooked ingredients on it. We have complained and server took it to her manager. When she came back her response was that her manager tried it and decided that it is nothing wrong with pizza. We have been also told that it is normal practise to put those ingredients on and that they do not have a time to grill it before hand as their restaurant works as a factory (I guess they mean that they are busy???)... apparently we should be happy they have not charged us and for the next time we are not going to be that lucky... I am pretty sure there will NOT be a next time...

It's still too early for me to judge after just one visit but I'd like to visit again,mainly for the great design of its interior. I don't really cope with the fusion of Italian-French restaurant- what's the point? I think the menu is mainly Italian with just some wine and desserts from French cuisine. The food was just OK and I'd appreciate better choice of house wine but I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the place,that's why I give 4. Hello, we are happy to hear you have enjoyed our restaurant. I would like to explain a bit what is this fusion about. As you mentioned in your reference starters, soups and main courses are mainly italian sometimes with diversion to France but the desserts, cheeses, wines and hard liquor are purely just French. That is the fusion. Of course there will be more french wine and I hope we will be able satisfy your expectation better next time if we are lucky to have you in our restaurant again. We have just opened recently 49 and that is why we dont have all available yet. Once again we are happy to share your opinion.All the best, team 49
