A stylish, welcoming bed & breakfast (chambres d'hotes) in a renovated 18th-century 'hotel particulier' within the ancient walls of Montreuil-Sur-Mer, France. Supper available on request.
A return trip to this delightful 18th century town house. On previous occasions we have stayed in the Pasteur room which is very comfortable and quiet. This time we had the Sarazin suite - a beautiful loft space with lots of the eclectic style of Maison76 that we have come to expect - soft grey and white paintwork to complement the antiques and art work. The suite has a dressing room, bedroom/sitting area and a bathroom with a massive tin bath as well as a modern shower. It overlooks the garden and is reached by a back staircase through the kitchen - so very private and quiet but would not be suitable if you have mobility issues. This is our first summer visit having enjoyed several winter breaks here. It was great to be able to enjoy the charming enclosed garden for a glass of wine before we set out for dinner. In less clement weather there is an elegant drawing room for the guests - I love the chairs upholstered with Tintin fabric. The welcome has always been really warm here. Tim has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and loves his food and wine - he is very happy to both recommend and book local restaurants for your stay. His advice is sound, so take it. There is no on site parking but plenty of free on street parking in the surrounding side streets - we have never had a problem getting a space within 5 minutes of the front door. Montreuil sur Mer is a real gem - a walled town with a lot of charm. Do take a stroll around the ramparts for views of the surrounding countryside and a birds eye view of the jumble of roofs in town. Better still it is not just a tourist town but is a real town where people live and work with a lively market at the weekend. It is graced with a lot of good restaurants across a range of prices. The local countryside has many beautiful bucolic river valleys to explore and the local tourist board can provide walking routes to help you on your way. The coastal towns (some 20-30 mins away) are well worth a visit. We have just had a 6 day break and found lots to do and enjoy. Overall this is a great find - beautiful house, comfortable accommodation and a delightful host. Highly recommended.

This is our second stay in this gloriously beautiful, welcoming and well appointed gem. Sandrine and Dominiq have completed a labour of love in the total renovation of the property. As a B&B, you rely on lunch and dinner elsewhere (at excellent local auberges - but check their opening times to avoid disappointment) but the breakfast is fit for 'angels' and never fails to delight. Rooms are uniquely decorated and truly charming. Although you will see that the property is on the market, I have extracted a promise that the new owners maintain standards ! We will be back to make good on that. Would buy myself if I had the money ! A great setting off point coming of the ferry at Calais but worth a longer stay.

A luxury hotel without the luxury price tag. Plus a great team working there. I wonder if they’d mind if we moved in full time?! We only stay for a night at a time as we are passing through but really appreciate the attention to detail and quality of care. It would be perfect for a special occasion or celebration.

I booked this through booking.com to take my elderly paretns for 1 last trip; 1 month before the trip my mother was diagnosed with cancer and scheduled for surgery 4 days before we were due to travel. I contacted Eurotunnel to explain and they refunded the full fare without question i contact this property who refused to refund any of the cost even when i pushed - clearly care only about taking money i will never book here again

My wife and I have just enjoyed a wonderful stay here. One night only, but we'd return for a longer stay in warmer weather. We walked into Montreuil in the evening (half an hour) on the footpath from Madeleine to the Citadelle and back during a beautiful sunset. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Auberge du Vieux Logis, three minutes walk away from our room. Hospitality top class from Martine...breakfast brought to our lovely room at a time to suit us. The room has large windows with a wonderful view of the beautiful garden. A perfect setting with a tranquil atmosphere.

We found L'Art du Temps very easily. Plenty of space in the car park at the entrance. We were given a very warm welcome by David, an extremely charming, artistic and talented man. Our room (named Club), its hallway and the bathroom were designed with flair by someone with a superb eye for interior design. There's a lot of good furniture everywhere. The large bed is very comfortable. Lots of light comes in from the large windows and the shower is large enough for two! Plenty of space to put your belongings. Good heating from those nice old 'vintage' radiators. The place is spotless. We stayed for two nights and the towels were changed on our second day. No need at all but a nice touch that we thought. The breakfast is a home-made extravaganza of superb fruit salad, (kiwi fruit from their garden), natural yoghurt, confiture, croissants, brioche, pain au chocolate, muesli and bread. Good coffee. Nice white china. A peaceful, quiet spot within a very easy walk to the main square, the ramparts and the excellent restaurants. We had time to visit the Saturday market before we made our way home. David likes to be paid in cash, which is absolutely fine, but you may want to be made aware of this. For those who smoke, there's a nice little bench outside the room, undercover, just in case it's raining. I highly recommend this little gem - you will be well looked after. We're looking forward to visiting again!

Entre le Touquet et Montreuil sur mer, très jolie vue lointaine sur les dunes, jardin paysagé, piscine extérieure chauffée, déco soignée, petits déjeuners copieux.
We had s fantastic two night stay here. So much thought and work has gone in to making the stay extra special and luxurious by the generous hostes. The rooms have every detail necessary and the breakfast is superb. Everything was top quality. Christophe was particularly patient and helpful and had good humour as I enjoyed practising my French!

We had a lovely stay for 2 nights bed and breakfast in September on our way back through France en route to England. The room was quirky and individual. Very comfortable bed and nice little seating area. The bathroom was a bit tight, but perfectly adequate and the shower was a good size. Breakfast was excellent with great attention to detail taken by the owner, Amal. Her welcome, charm and consideration for us as guests was second to none. She couldn't have been more attentive and friendly, despite a lack of a common language between us! Thank you Amal, we will be back next year.
