Montevideo, a port city and the capital of Uruguay, is a perfect destination for travelers looking for a relaxing stroll past colonial era buildings and along beautiful beaches. The Ciudadela Gateway, the only remaining section of the wall that once surrounded the entire city, now serves as the entrance to Ciudad Vieja, Montevideo's oldest neighborhood. Home to churches, museums, and theaters, at night the area comes alive with nightclubs playing Tango and Candombe music for crowds of dancers.

Situated in a nice suburb of Montevideo out towards the airport.Good menu but only sections of it translated into English and staff speak no English so is a little challenging if you don't speak Spanish. Tried the baby beef and it was excellent but there was nothing baby about it as it was huge. Vegetarians in our party were also happy with the menu options. Would recommend reserving a table as the restaurant was full by 8.30pm.

Yes, the title says it all. I enjoy their outdoor seating. I dined at Terracota twice within one week. Once with friends visiting from the US and the second time alone. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Food was good both times. I would return simply out of convenience.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Fresh off the plane from an overnight flight. We shared the traditional meat skewer for two, a bottle of Tennat, and a dessert of Tennat ice cream with berry sauce with espressos. Everything was great, including the Lemonchellos to end the meal. Service was great, and the staff very friendly.

LA OTRA is the classic Uruguayan barbecue place where you can find the best for export meats of the country, prepared by expert hands with more than 30 years experience, in a comfortable place, located in the heart of the Pocito's area. A fast, outgoing p
The restaurant is located on a quiet street corner in a residential area, which gives it a very neighborhood feel. I ordered the pulpa steak since they were out of the entraña, which was a quality cut of meat and cooked to perfection. The grilled chicken salad was very tasty as well. The bread and accompaniments were all delicious. The service was a bit absent but friendly and close enough by we were able to get their attention when needed. Total for two people for one pulpa steak and one grilled chicken salad came to around $33 usd with tip, very reasonable for the quality. We ate at the highly acclaimed Don Julio in Buenos Aires and considered the steak here to be comparable, albeit a lot less busy and a less cool ambience. Would definitely return.

Wanted something light in the late afternoon, and this place fit the bill. Close to the Sheraton where we were staying. Had the dual of chirizo and the sweat morcilla (a kind of blood sausage. Both were very good and you would never have guessed that morcilla is a blood sausage (the sweet form has orange rinds, cinnamon, and other interesting ingredients). Service was great. Will be back this trip for sure!

Friends, my husband and I went here for my birthday far from home. They were very welcoming and cheerful on arrival and stayed that way. The dinner was excellent and my lamb infused with a 12 hour marinade was delicious. I plan to try their approach when I get home.
