Plain and simple: this place is wonderful!
I've been here recently on a business dinner with some colleagues. It had been my first time.
One dish after the other is a fireworks of delicacies!
The cook is an artist! We loved it and will definitely come back.

We just have been there. Place is nice, dark lighted, well decorated based on Garibaldi historical character. Staff was nice and familiar and always kind with us. Food: we tasted house appetiser, mainly salami, ham and local cheese... honestly nothing special to remember. We had cannelloni and pennette, cannelloni portion was large and very tasty. After, we ate french fries, home made, delicious, and pepperoni good too. Lastly meatballs and steak not bad.... tiramisù and creme brule' also good at the end. My impression was like eating at your mummy's home, sure you will not come to try special tastes. Last note: the bill, a little bit above the average, considering that this deli is located in a small village, well outside downtown Rome where life cost is much lower... good for lunch during an alternative autumn trip

Good food presented in an orignal and modern way that is unusual for a small-town restaurant. The owners are extremely nice and the variety of food offered is extensive. Basically what they do is offer very traditional dishes presented and reworked in a modern way. For example parmesan, rocket and some kind of prosciutto or bresaola is a classic in Italy, but they shred the prosciutto into a fine fluff making it nicer to look at and easier to eat. The entire time I felt I recognized the flavours of the things I was eating but the presentation was very original, you'd get your pasta in special dishes or crowned with breadstick decorations. Some people in the room got a real kick out of presentation, oooohing and aaaahing at every dish. The portions were also amble put not excessive, more modern that what you get in a traditional place. Other nice touches: a quail egg with truffle as antipasto (very yummy), warm chestnuts wrapped in prosciutto or similar (sweet, soft, delicious), duck in raspberry sauce. Lots of fun things to try and a good selection of meats, which is not usual for the Rome area. Overall a truly positive experience, I would definitely reccomend trying this restaurant. Just a few notes: all my dishes seemed to have strawberries in them, from the antipasto all the way to the dessert, I like fruit, and I guess clients get a kick out of it so maybe it's a smart move, but I thought it was a little weird. The wine list which was pretty decent didn't have years for the wines, that's not too cool, you need the years, it makes a big difference. The room is a bit dark, you feel like you're in a cellar, but to the owners' credit they decorated well in order to compensate and the tables are cozy.

"La Rocca del Gusto" is a small, quiet and informal restaurant. It's kitchen combines tradition and experimentation: the high quality of raw material is it's guide. For this reason, there are always in menu local and organic products such as meats, eggs, vegetables, flour, honey, chocolate, milk and oil, as well as national and international Slowfood Presidia. The menu changes every two months to follow seasons and fantasy. Here you can find wines coming from small business realities, many of which are based on organic and biodynamic agriculture and on a natural vinification.
Restaurant with excellent food, wine and relaxing atmosphere
Fantastic little, modern and very welcoming restaurant in the hart of Monterotondo town, it's only half an hour from Rome. Excellent food, delicious wine, friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Their antipasto (salami, ham and cheese) is “to die for” and with a few glasses of nice red wine...couldn't get any better! Thank you La Rocca del Gusto for being such a lovely place!

I found it out when it still belonged and was run by Osvaldo (the restaurant full name actually is "La Tana degli Amici - da Osvaldo"), who was a great Napolitan chef de cousine, and cooked delicious dishes. When Osvaldo decided to retire, two very young guys (two friends from Hotelling School!!!) "jumped into the business, refreshed the place, and started... coking!!! Fantastic! I know Monterotondo is not exactly a touristy place, but if you are staying in Rome, have a car, want to tour the surroundings of Rome, heading North towards Rieti, Monterotondo is just 20 Km off Rome, on the VIA SALARIA. And once you are there... can't miss out on the two friends (they are sooooooooooooooo young!!!) restaurant.
Do you know that they get up at 4 every morning and personally go to the Fish Market to choose fresh fish themselves???
Food quality is excellent, the variety of the menu and the wine selection are great! Please keep in mind, though, that the last time I went there, they did not yet accept payment by credit/debit card... However, you will not need much cash, if you go there... it's a real bargain!!!
You won't regret the trip to Monterotondo, in Sabina.

Funny and exotic, good the Japanese cusine and "storically" good Chinese. Not good tempura, but a honest sushi and sashimi. In general all the plates on the menu are good. Cared atmosphere and well presented plates. You can try it.
Divertente ed esotico. Una buona cucina Japponese e una "storica" buona cucina Cinese. Non un'ottima tempura ma un buon suschi ed un buon sashimi. In generale tutti i piatti del menu sono buoni. Atmosfera curata e piatti ben presentati. Lo puoi provare.

Bel locale, arredato con gusto, luminoso. Personale gentilissimo, ottimi panini personalizzabili e buonissimi dolci. Menu molto particolare, fuori dai soliti schemi

We dined at this restaurant a rainy Saturday evening.
We had an Italian style dinner with first course, second course (meat) and sweet: everything delicious and proper portions.
Friendly staff, attentive service, the correct times.
Medium level and quiet environment and a chance to chat.
The only downside: they serve wine of Trentino (and not high quality one) as the house wine.
