Having read some of the reviews, I was a little nervous about staying in one of the more expensive places in Montecristi. Look no further…this hotel is well worth the expense. We had to make a last minute reservation. El Morro was communicative and very understanding and considerate, and so we were able to check in early…muchas gracias. The room was comfortable, cool and clean…which is all that we wanted from this particular trip. The attention to detail and to our specific needs was excellent. Breakfast, which was included, was varied. They were able to make a stronger expresso strength coffee and heated up our (lactose free) milk that we had brought. The server, Reni, was most accommodating and attentive. Only two very minor gripes… 1) When the water is turned on, the unusual 'melting plastic' smell coming from the tap (faucet) of the shower and hand basin. 2) The music coming from the bar and food places a few hundred metres away, which is completely out of the hotel's control, could be annoying to some guests. However, we so tired that it didn't bother us. Nevertheless, the hotel's location is exceptional because it is at the base of this very large rock formation, El Morro, which can be seen from miles around because everything else is on the plain surrounding one of the principal Dominican rivers, El Yaque Del Norte, and because it is almost next to the beach and Atlantic Ocean.

We ve been traveling s few days north the Dominican Republic and we have visited the beautiful little town of Monte Cristi Hotel Santa Clara is very modern with nice open space and terraces, very clean and the bedroom was really nice We only suggest to improve a little more breakfast! Maybe not using plastic glasses and serving some fruits which is so good here and fresh juice All the rest was very good and a good deal price, location and service

You get what you pay for, as the The saying goes. Wifi is shut down at about 11pm when they close the lobby and a security guard watches the property. I received raw pancakes with moldy syrup container. The room had some kind of feathers under the beds and the bed linen had like grains of something weird- definetely dis not want to lay there or sleep. I know they are renovation but renovation from hospitality perspective are to be done inside out...not a new pool but rooms and bathroom and ac and fan are full of rust.

"A blend of privacy and gardens." Here's the housing and rooms at Hotel Marbella. Located by the sea, on the beach, the Hotel has 36 rooms.Your perfect match are the balconies overlooking the sea. An authentic and harmonious environment, a classic white people breathe.Stillness, space, privacy, nature. In short, an absolute luxury.
Monte Cristi is a very small town in the province of Dominican republic at North west side and a less visitor zones, it's kinda laid back city and people forgets about it, but it's a peaceful and quite town! stayed for 2 nights 3 days at this hotel and this is one of not so many place to stay at Monte Christi, good enough, I had no complaints, receptionist are very helpful, 2/3 star level, room choices between 1,500 pesos which is $30 usd and then $40 and then $50 usd for a bigger room, bigger tv and a balcony! the view of the Moro mountain and the see is descent enough and a kond of unique! I liked my stay overall!

If you’re looking to enjoy beach with a nice ocean breeze and none of the chaotic crowds of tourists, Montr Cristi is where you should go and El Cayito is where you should stay. We stayed for 5 nights, and it was perfect. This side of town is definitely where you want to stay - way quieter than on the main drag, but all is still walkable. They have comfy hammocks, immaculately clean grounds, a nice pool, and we couldn’t decide whether to eat on the beach tables/chairs or on the elevated platform overlooking the beach. Breakfast is simple but included, along with coffee. It’s a 2 minute walk down to Galleon Tours (poorly labeled at the corner), which can take you snorkeling and to the mangroves for a lazy float (or scuba, though we didn’t do that). Coco Mar at the corner has good food for pretty cheap. But the best place to go is El Morro beach - just hang there all day. We had many hours there without a single other human. Apparently, there are a few more people on the weekends, but even then it feels deserted. Great body surfing all four times we went, and if you’re tired of lounging, a short walk up the hill gives you two great little trails - one a strenuous hike to the top of El Morro, the other a short easy hike with swings and great views (and 14 stations of the cross). If you’re looking to relax on a gorgeous beach without the crowds, I highly recommend.
