Reviews on Sushi food in Billings, Montana, United States. Lewis & Clark, Custer, Sitting Bull and Calamity Jane may be long gone, but they are not forgotten in Billings. Museums, galleries and landmarks honoring these legendary characters from the Old West dot the city, making it a history buff's dream destination. Surrounded by six breathtaking mountain ranges, Billings also offers plenty of opportunities for fresh air recreation, including hiking, biking, golf and viewing rare Montana wildlife. Spend time at the Western Heritage Center, an interactive museum full of clothing and remarkable artifacts from the Yellowstone River Valley. In the early 1900s, the railroad brought wealth to Billings and testaments of this prosperity are still standing. Be sure to visit the regal Moss Mansion, designed by architect H.J. Hardenbergh (who also designed the Waldorf-Astoria and Plaza Hotels in New York City). In the more modern realm, MetraPark offers horse racing, rodeos, concerts, fairs and other types of entertainment everyone will enjoy. And kids of all ages will enjoy the animals and games at ZooMontana.

Umi has never disappointed our family. We always go for the hibachi experience. The fried rice is amazing. The salad is cold and crisp with a dressing that is like a light thousand island/Asian/gingerish yumminess. The noodles are superb and it doesnât matter what meet combination you choose, itâs just all good. The showmanship is enjoyable. See pic for my daughterâs birthday fried rice in the shape of a heart. And birthday fried bananas.

I've only eaten here once, but everyone's food was delicious. I had the Pho while others in our group had the grill. I'm adding this to my list of preferred restaurants. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, no surly servers here. Happy, upbeat vibe.

It's ironic to be so far inland and be able to sit down and have my tastebuds transported seaside. Nara is, hands down, the freshest and highest quality sushi I have ever eaten. Aside from the fact that the rolls are abundant and crafted masterfully, the chef was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Their menu is so full of tempting combinations and creative ideas it is almost impossible to decide what to get. I settled on the Rolling Red and was blown away at flavor combination and the freshness and quality of the ingredients. I've eaten sushi fresh dockside on multiple coastlines of multiple countries and can't compare to what we enjoyed at Nara. We look forward to returning to explore the amazing options on the menu. Well done.

The beef curry is tasty and the various sushi rolls we tried were on point. The Dragon Roll was my favorite. I also like the baked tempura roll that had salmon on top. We will definitely be back again!

What a great meal! Of course they have more than Sushi such as their Korean BBQ and little grills right at some tables but we only tried the sushi. It was great and the staff was very aware of gluten free and what can be accommodated. They said basically they can make most things gluten free except the deep fried things. Staff was very friendly, service was fast, food was delicious. They even brought out a dessert at no charge for us; I'm assuming because they're awesome. Totally go and eat here! Prices were fair, it can be expensive depending on what you're ordering of course.
Where to eat Barbecue food in Billings: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Wild Ginger is very convenient to The Northern Hotel, and Asian sounded good, so I wandered over one night during my Billings stay. I won't return. They seated me at the bar which was fine for a single diner, but classic 80's music blared loudly. My request to have it changed or turned down was denied because "it's the manager's favorite." My curry seemed quite bland, despite the server assuring me that their food was "very authentic and not at all Americanized." I asked for, and got, several spice containers brought to the bar so that I would jazz up my food. You know things are "off" when a customer asks to remake the dish himself. Strangest by far was an electrician who showed up to fix a pump for the large aquarium, laid the machine directly on the bar, took out his tool box, and proceeded to repair the dirty pump just two feet from where my food and drink sat. I assumed that staff would ask him to take his work elsewhere, but no one said a word. Clearly all the servers knew him well and chatted amiably with him as he drilled away and loudly retested the pump. Given the way my request to lower the music was received, I knew better than to say more. Next trip to Billings, I will take my patronage to one Billings' other great downtown restaurants.

My family went to this restaurant, having gone before, and pleased with the food. It was delicious, and we really enjoyed the meet-and-greet seating where we had the opportunity to hear and learn the stories of people we did not know. The atmosphere promotes friendliness. The "chef" was fun at each grill while dispensing water and broccoli long-distance into guests' mouths. Children also love this experience, and there was a great deal of bonhomie and laughter throughout the room.

Our family loves Tao! We go here almost every time we are in Billings. Service is fabulous, food is always top quality, and the atmosphere is nice. We like that is quiet so we can talk. The chef here is outstanding! Only once, out of many many visits have we had to wait longer than 30 minutes (and it was a super busy dinner time). We love this restaurant!
