Find out what Diner restaurants to try in Helena. Although the once glittering Last Chance Creek has long dried up, Helena's Gold Rush history is reflected in its preserved architecture, from the spires of St. Helena Cathedral and the Queen Anne style Original Governor's Mansion to the restored miner's village of Reeder's Alley and the oldest house in the city, Pioneer Cabin. For those seeking adventure, the paths of Mount Helena Park provide ample activity. Helena also offers much in the way of arts and culture with theaters and galleries.

Nothing fancy...Just good food!
We were there for dinner and it wasnât busy. We were quickly approached and our drink orders taken and filled right away. Things went downhill from there. 2 other tables were seated and orders taken by another waitress before our food order was taken. Our waitress said sheâd return with more tea but that was a long time coming. She did finally refill our tea glasses. The salad bar is right by the front door but itâs not a self-serve salad bar. I just felt that was a little unsanitary for food but Im sure their space is limited. The food came out somewhat hot. It was hotter than warm and it tasted fine. We ordered 2 desserts but only 1 came out. We werenât charged for the other so I think there was some miscommunication. By the time we left it had gotten rather busy in there so it must be a fairly popular place but itâs just not popular in this family.

Since breakfast at our inn did not fill the bill, we were forced to seek sustenance at Steves. We were glad to have found the cafe as it completely filled our needs. The service was excellent and the coffee and breakfast was more than adequate. It was not cheap but this is a tourist town.

Four of us tried Shellie's on the recommendation from the motel we were staying at and she was right, the food and service was very good. Would go back again.

Went in late afternoon on Saturday, even late in the afternoon it was busy. My son had the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich which he said was very good. I had a order of onion rings and a malt. The malt was excellent, but the onion rings had no taste. I could not taste any flavor to the batter and could not get any flavor out of the onion. I tried every ring and ended up not eating most of them. Don't get the onion rings.
