A perky waitress moving amongst all female clientele ( just a figment of probability me thinks) in a very clean space. A half page breakfast menu with ok pricing. Item by item as delivered quickly:Eggs.. no dress up on a couple very small scrambled eggs.. well ok .. I rarely eat eggs anyway. One strawberry and tiny orange slice.. not fresh dried out pre mold. Ham slice : small dried out.. a far cry from the M&M in Butte bone in Western meats ham..Hashbrowns: awful. This is even after I ordered with some onion . The cook - owner must have gotten her Phd in portion control. I used 12 packets of ketchup. I don’t want to return.. ever!

This is one of those places that defines Montana. We are natives and have to stop every time through. You have the Cowboys at the lunch counter, the veterans at the tables and the Jaycees or Kiwanis in the back. Food is home cooking and excellent. Staff has been here for years, things don't change in rural America. If you enjoy Montana you will love this place.

Townsend was the closest town to our campground, so we decided to head into town for Sunday lunch. The decor was rustic mismatch, but needed cleaning, the service was very slow and we almost left before ordering, but there were few other choices. It took a long while to get our food. After bringing our order, the server told us the toast would be up shortly. We could see her make the toast, but then forget for bring it to the table for 5 minutes - it was cold. The sausage patties, made by hand, were raw inside. The server then again forgot us when we asked for the check. This experience was painful. This little 'bistro' needs some organization and focus if it is going to make it.
