Needs some management attention

The resort has lost a step. TripAdvisor states there is laundry service however that’s not accurate. There is a bag in the closet indicating they have laundry service but you actually have to get coins and go to a neighboring building and use a coin laundry. The food is three star. Average. If you want a great meal go to the whitefish restaurant at the country club. No comparison. Housekeeping is upon request. Called to get extra plastic bags for the ice bucket (after I used one). Blank stare, did not comprehend. Never came. The housekeeping is marginal. Not really a cleaning. If you’re not going to clean the toilets then … please, leave a toilet brush for the customers to use. The car valets are great. The young lady at the coffee shop is also extremely courteous and friendly. Beautiful venue, but someone in management needs to kick it into gear. Overpriced. Maybe a B-.

Quite, peaceful and relaxing... what more do you want on a five day get-away. Stayed in a pet friendly cabin and plan to do it again this summer. Enjoyed the hot tubs daily, took our lab for walks on the remote trails and enjoyed the beauty of not only Glacier National Park but also the Flathead Valley. Thanks to the staff also, they were great!

Issues with Night Shift Front Desk Person

Reviewed By 10KDD

We stayed at this property on June 1 and 2. By evening of June 1, I got about 10 text messages from Holiday Inn informing me about availability of Bikes for rent. I called front desk around 9:30 pm complaining about so many text messages I was getting. The person (her name was Hannah based on information provided by Day time front desk person) told me to talk to their IT person. When I tried to discuss this issue further she hung up on me. When tried to call front desk again no one answered the phone after it rang so many times. So I called the front desk again after about 15 minutes and I was immediately put on HOLD for long time. I think this was very rude on the part of the front desk person. I have been IHG member for many years and stayed at many IHG hotels in US and abroad but this is the first such experience i had. Other than this issue, the room and amenities were nice.

Yellowstone Valley Lodge, Ascend Hotel Collection

We're a small, off-the-beaten-path collection of contemporary cabins and one exceptional five-star gourmet restaurant, tucked along the banks of the Yellowstone River on a ranch style property in the Paradise Valley of Montana. Our passions: Falling asleep to the sound of the river (we've also got a weak spot for high-count linens, fly-fishing, and microbrews—you'll see.), anything locally grown (if Chef Marcos prepares it, it's good) and showing off Yellowstone National Park (and the Valley's other endless outdoor opportunities). With our local knowledge, upscale amenities, and taste for both fine food and outdoor adventure, we're a natural base for your Yellowstone-area experience.

Exceeded expectations!

Wonderful as always

We love bringing our family to Fairmont anytime of the year! In the spring and summer we get some fresh air playing on the kids play ground and watching the animals. We always enjoy the food from the cafe and the pool side service, the drinks from the outdoor bar are great and all have friendly service. Of course we enjoy the pools, hot tubs and water slide. The staff is helpful, kind and always there to keep the pool area safe for everyone! The kids love seeing the Christmas tree in the lobby when we visit during the holidays, being able to stay inside for all our activities in the cold months is a huge plus. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

Big Sky. Big Fun.

Our time at Lone Mountain Ranch was fabulous! We fed carrots to the horses as soon as we arrived, which was so great! The vibe by the stables was so lovely; fire pits going, people wandering around with drinks, petting horses… We decided we needed some pre-dinner drinks ourselves, so we stopped by the bar, where we were greeted by Brien! He was super friendly and made us feel welcome while he made our delicious cocktails. After finishing our cocktails, we headed up to dinner. Chris greeted us warmly and took us to our table, where we met Joel, who is maybe the friendliest waiter I’ve ever had! I could instantly tell he was passionate about his job and the food he was serving! He gave us great recommendations on food and wine! My group is still talking about the wonderful time we had at Lone Mountain Ranch and all the great people we met while there!

It was an average stay for a 6 star price.

The Montage is off the beaten path, which we expected, but we did not expect the Hotel to have a significant portion of its advertised onsite offerings closed: 1: Outdoor Pool Closed 2: Outdoor Skating Rink Closed 3: Bowling Alley and Restaurant Closed for 6 of the 7 nights 4: Upscale Onsite Restaurant Booked for the week (In Fairness, we were squeezed in for two nights) 5: Cadillac Service Booked for 6 of the 7 nights. The hotel is beautiful, but they are not ready for guests at the price they are charging. They were obviously aware because they comped one of our rooms. I would have rather paid the full price and received the experience we were expecting. In all fairness, I would try it again but call ahead of time and make sure everything was open and not rely on their website.

Grouse Mountain Lodge

Nice bones, but missing details

Reviewed By sandh035

My wife and i stayed at the Grouse Mountain Lodge for one night after camping at Glacier National Park for a week. First impressions were great, with beautiful common areas and nice amenities. However, you start to look at the fine details and things aren't quite exactly as nice as you'd believe while checking in. Our room we reserved was no longer available, so we were placed in a similar room with two queen beds rather than a King. Not a big deal, but oh well. Fast forward to checking in to the room and you have another good first impression with a very nice space, but you look closely and you start to see some holes in the wall (something was previously mounted and not filled back in), broken window shutters that had a temporary fix, and a cracked wall damage near the couch. None of which are deal-breakers, but it does temper your experience a bit. We also found a centipede near the couch, but decided against bringing it up as we had just been camping for a week, and although we didn't see any of them out there, it wasn't worth making a fuss over. Moved the car closer to the room and noticed a broken window on the way back in, started feeling a little disappointed in the place. No matter, we'll just shower and go out to get something to eat. Oh wait, a new $250 charge to my card popped up on my phone after I had already paid online? Better check with the front office. Turns out it's just a hold in case we wanted to spend some money at the bar or restaraunt. Well, they got us, guess we'll check them out. My wife and I got an appetizer that started off strong, but her entree was a bit bland. Mine was as well, but to a much lesser extent. Drinks were good though, but hey, that's an extra $100 we weren't planning on spending here. To be fair, we could have just ignored that and traveled back in town. Overall, I've spent less on better food elsewhere, but it was far from bad, and I've also spent more on far worse food. Anyway, a wedding was going on, so the noise level was high until about 10pm. A reasonable time for it to start to quiet down, and honestly while we could hear it, it wasn't too bad. However after there was a substantial amount of noise coming from above, and I was left to wonder if our original room maybe would have been placed elsewhere, keeping the wedding party together. I also certainly wouldn't want to put a damper on someone's special night. Anyway, there were a few fees charged after heading out as well. Disappointing.
