Things to do in Monastir
El koojina is a restaurant in the heart of Monastir, serving up tradional tunisian cuisine
We really like it here it is great lunch place with real local food and mint tea. If you like exploring back streets of Monastir this is the place to go.
A lovely place to wile away the time over a coffee and a tasty crepe or other snack from the Marrakech kitchen.. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It is a great location to gather and enjoy your morning, afternoon, or evening and admirethe boats bobbing on the water nearby.

Visited Monastir Harbour and ate in Calypso Restaurant. Fantastic Calamari Provençal. Beautiful tender fillet steak and great attentive service. Excellent value for money.Left our hotel âLiberty Resortâ to eat out due to the horrendous standard of food in the buffet restaurant. Will definitely return to Calypso, the same canât be said for The Liberty Resort in monastir

great atmosphere, great staff that make you feel welcome!!Staff were incredible when I had an accident (my own fault, there was alcohol involved) and ended up cutting my leg on glass, all the staff gathered around to ensure I was okay and get my cut cleaned!I will 100% be coming back next year!!!!

A lovely restaurant with very helpful and friendly staff. The food was really tasty especially the freshly made flat bread that you get given when you arrive. We loved it so much we asked for seconds! The pizzas here are beautiful and I would thoroughly recommend them. My boyfriend had the mixed grill though and the meat portions were very small so if you do eat here I would suggest not to order that. One more tip if you eat here is to decline their offer to order you a taxi after your meal as Ali the waiter calls one of his friends who drives like a maniac. There were a few occasions on our return journey back to our hotel where I thought my days were numbered!

We ate here to get away from the poor food at the hotel and weren't disappointed. It came to about £13 for the 4 of us and was very nice.

A very traditional style Tunisian restaurant, in the centre of Monastir. We received attentive and friendly service while dining there. The menu had a large range of Tunisian and Mediterranean style dishes. Our food arrived quickly was very delicious! My only tip for improvement is that the restaurant could improve its table areas, some of the condiments were a little old/unclean looking.

This review is long overdue, I hope its message reaches Ali and finds him well. Ali is quite the character, accomodating, and a smart, smart businessman. It's no wonder he receives a majority of 'Excellent' reviews on TripAdvisor. We visited Ali's bar three times during our 10 day vacation, once for breakfast, lunch and dinner each. We had the Full English one day and loved it. The sausage wasn't all that but the meal was thoroughly enjoyable and a welcome treat in the middle of a Tunisian holiday. The beer was cold and far superior than the Resort's. Never mind football on the Tele and free wifi!May 19, 2015 we went for dinner at Ali's bar to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Ali had allowed my familty to decorate his bar earlier in the day and I had requested Tunisian Cuisine the day before. We arrived to a decorated table of flower petals spelling out "Happy Holiday, the Big 50, Steve". We were served three courses consisting of couscous, lamb, chicken, steak, plus, plus, plus. There was even a chocolate cake with 50 and Steve written in icing on it. The beer was flowing and at the end of the night Ali only asked for a set price per person which seemed more than fair and reasonable. If you are ever in the area you have to drop by for a delicious meal, a cold beer, to watch a football match and experience Ali's warm welcome.Thank you Ali and your Team for a great memory. I wish only the best for you and the people of Tunisia. I hope to return one day and experience your generosity again.

the restaurant was once very good. My last experience there was not very enjoyable. The food was badly presented on the plate and does not taste fresh. The seafood salad was ok but the main meal, Dorade grillee, was awful, overcooked and very meagre, the chips were burnt and uneatable. We could have had better in a very popular restaurant in the town. the whole atmosphere in the restaurant was not relaxing and very very uncomfortable. We could hear fighting in the next door bar, which happened to be part of the establishment
