We had lunch in Katialo on a wet wintry day. Staff were welcoming and attentive. We shared calamari for entree. It was perfectly fried, delicious. We each had the fish soup for main. Warming, delicate and very tasty. Really liked the presentation and ceramic dishes. We liked the modern decor. Felt a bit like we were in Greece as everyone around us was speaking Greek, nice. We were offered complimentary yoghurt with walnuts and honey, creamy and so so tasty. We'll definitely return when we are next in Victoria.

Our group of 10 met here, for the first time, for lunch. I had read differing reviews, but I have to say we found Mykonos just excellent in every way. Firstly, the atmosphere was wonderful. Such interesting decor, one might feel one was actually there in Greece! Then the service was terrific - very attentive from the word go, and all through the meal. Drinks brought out promptly, and the dishes served regularly through our time there. Then the food - wow! So much food, and just delicious too. More than enough for us all, so some lucky ones got to take the leftovers home! We started with dips and pita bread, then on to a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes - the usual Greek offerings, as well as salads, seafood, lamb and pork, chips, falafels, meatballs. So yummy! And all of this for less than $40 per head! Excellent value. A place to recommend for sure!

Dinner with friends on a Friday night was our first visit to Samsara and I regret that we have not dined here before. The interior of the restaurant was attractive; it was busy without feeling the restaurant was too crowded or noisy. The staff were very friendly and helpful - service was very good. The food was excellent. We had a Mezza Platter made up for 4 people and fried calamari as entrees. The platter was excellent. We all enjoyed our mains of lamb blackstrap, duck, barramundi and seafood tagine. The desserts were just as good - baklava and mahalabia. After 3 courses we were comfortably full. I definitely recommend and we will be back soon.

This restaurant resembles what we used to call a bistro/grill bar. Sunday night last minute dinner and friends persuaded us to try this tucked away grill with the unprepossessing name. and it delivered fantastic food and friendly service. Walking in were struck by the deliciousness of the aromas coming from the open kitchen at the back of the long bar and we were seated in a position to observe the care and the attention to detail taken with the preparation of each dish.We had a platter for the two vegos amongst us, all the ingredients were of superior quality, calamari, which was pronounced to be the best ever, and "saganaki seafood", which also received very high praise (no cheese! and a friendly Greek lesson about what saganaki means :). Serves were generous, delicious olives and bread for dips. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality of our food. This might have just become my favourite Greek restaurant in Oakleigh.

Delicious food, generous portions! The whole family was happy and full after we grabbed some takeaway from Secret Souv. We had the Dip Platter and the Mixed Grill for 2, which served 2 adults & 2 tweens easily. Ordered by phone and food was ready to go at designated collection time. Can’t have been sitting there too long because the meat was hot, the salads cold and the chips crunchy! Will definitely be back.

An excellent menu of eat in or take away chicken, beef or pork souvlaki's, and pides. Platters available to share. Fresh herbs grown on the premises. Lovely fresh salads and a good range of dips plus all the usual soft drinks and coffee. Great for families. The owner went and got a bowl of water for my dog while we waited for our food to be ready. Can't ask for more than that.

This ‘upmarket’ Italian restaurant is tucked away in a commercial precinct, not far from Brandon Park shopping centre. The best thing is: parking is not a problem! At least, not on the Saturday when we visited for a family birthday celebration. The white table cloths and napkins add a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the place: as waiter extraordinarie, Nikolas, expertly rolls and folds your napkin during your absence from the table!Nikolas was so very patient with our table - especially a 90 year old mother who likes to make difficult for everyone these days! The menu is very different from ‘run of the mill’ Italian restaurants and is a little on the adventurous side. A case in point is the swordfish two of us ordered: it was rare in the middle. As someone who only has well done steak, hamburgers - and salmon - I was quite taken aback that it was not cooked through. Upon being informed this was how ppl like swordfish to be cooked - I said that I would have liked to have been asked how I would like it cooked. Nikolas agreed to take my comment on board. But, as a baby boomer I’ve been around a while(!) and have travelled quite a bit and have eaten at a lot of restaurants in Australia and overseas - and I have never encountered ‘medium rare’ swordfish before. It also means the fish is quite ‘tough’ to eat - but admittedly, this was a very thick, generous piece.Be warned: Sette Bello is no cheap Italian. Main courses cost around $38 - while steak was $46. The pasta dishes are only marginally cheaper. The sides are $9 each - but the French fries were the best I’ve tasted!Desserts are around $16 each - but I highly recommend the lemon ricotta-filled cannoli at $4.50 each. We ordered 2 between 4 ppl and had trouble finishing it although it was delicious.Coffee was great, too!The restaurant had a lovely ambience - and that’s mainly because the wait staff are so welcome and obliging. This Saturday lunch time was very busy - with ppl coming at various times in the lunchtime period.
