Very disappointing. New Italian restaurant in good location with easy secure parking. But, you don't expect small pieces of the plastic bag the bacon was wrapped in to be in your Carbonara!I called the manager/owner who shrugged his shoulders, he said its the bag for the bacon and turned to walk away.I said it shouldn't be in the food, then he offered to replace the food.As it was over half gone and i had meticulously checked for any more pieces i kept the plate but my appetite had gone. Then when the bill came there was no apology or complimentary drink. The menu is priced before VAT. I really hate that. You get a shock when your Carbonara ends up at over 1400 ksh!Over priced, and customers under valued.

At the risk of being slightly biased, which I honestly don't believe I am, the pizzas are excellent! Try them and you'll see that it's true! As for the place itself, it is cosy and you will find that typical italian vibe.
The best Restaurant in Mtwapa
It is basically an out and out non vegetarian restaurant. Had to be there as part of a team. But the staff understood my limitations and needs and adjusted wonderfully. The first visit acquainted them with my food habits and subsequent visits prompted the staff to take care of my needs with enthusiasm without asking. Very good place for a good lunch.

Located in the southern part of Bamburi beach, next to The Pirates, it's a good place to enjoy beach life. Find your way to the beachside section in front and enjoy the breeze from the indian ocean and the excelllent seaview together with cold Tusker beers. If you're in for more bar and restaurantfeeling go for the more indoor section on the right hand side. Cold beers and good food for reasonable prices. The rooms are basic and ok and good value for money . What I really miss is that it should be safety box in each rooom, so I hope for this next time.

Although not 100% authentic Italian, the twist to the cuisine to fit the culture of the People of Mombasa has made this restaurants food very very tasty. We had the pizza and pasta and both were perfection. Will be back here shortly to try something else.

Nice secure parking. Multi colored lights in the garden. There are cats in garden, but they do not bother you. Fans are around to keep you cool. Wait staff are very attentive. They have a wide variety of wines, various sizes are available, you do not need to buy a bottle. The Lasagna was quite good. Elias was a very good waiter.

Formerly a holiday house on two floors overlooking the white, sandy Bamburi beach 12 km north of Mombasa island. Il Covo opened its door in May 2003 and since then it has been the top dining and entertainment venue in Mombasa. The lower veranda overlooks
Been here several times- mainly for lunch- the place was serene and the waitstaff polite. Loved their pizza- actually the reason I keep going back! That and the ice cream- its super fresh and they've got the most interesting flavours. I definitely advice you to give it a go- especially over lunch when its not too busy- ideal for a leisurely meal.Thank you for your favorable rating and review. We are glad to note that overall you are happy with our offerings. I will certainly share this with the team. Thank you for taking your time to let the world know of your wonderful experiences at Il Covo Mombasa. We look forward to being of service to you on your next return.

The Menu and food are out of this world. The prices are ok considering the quality of service and ambience. This is my second review on the place in the past couple years, but we were so impressed with the new manager Allan, the chef Maina and our waiters Chris and Jennifer I had to endorse it again. The pasta's white sauce was so-o-o delicious as was their salads. And one cannot forget to mention, they make the best margaritas in Kenya. The only complaint is that the weather is so nice, it melts your drink quickly, so one has to drink quickly, third world problems I guess.
