We always get off highway 40 and visit between Winston-Salem and Asheville or Charlotte. Also worth a 30 mile destination trip by itself. Delicious desserts, nice sandwiches (I’m particularly fond of the Turkey, havarti, lignionberry sandwich). Great broccoli salad. It’s great that they hire lots of local teenagers—that’s almost unheard of any more. The kids are friendly and competent. They’ve obviously been well trained. This is also the go to place for cakes. They’ll personalize one of your choice on the spot.

We saw the billboard coming off the interstate, Number One Restaurant in Davie County- challenge accepted. (I should point out they are number 2 on TripAdvisor) The menu was expansive. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entries, deserts... everything. We were not there to drink but according to hubby they had plenty on draft and I noticed some fun margarita flavors. Meals came out tasty, hot and almost as ordered. Hubby asked for no red peppers and it had red peppers. They serve coke products. Hubby ordered dessert, Hershey cake. He says it was great and though great size, he finished it in less than 2 minutes. Waitress was spot on. Her name was Ashley. On a personal note, I’m on weight watchers, there were plenty of chicken choices and other fun choices. Now, there were temptations too but, it’s very doable.

While traveling I-40, I decided to take a few extra minutes to travel into Mocksville for a coffee stop. This is a gem of a coffeehouse and my latte was delicious and well prepared. This is a cute, small coffeehouse with many food and pastry items. If you are traveling I-40 and tire of the usual highway chain stops, get off the beaten path and try this little place. A bonus is the free wi fi - always appreciated. Highly recommended!

I went through the drive thru to order 2 donuts. Was going to eat them while driving with my cup of coffee. Much to my dismay, the donuts were wrapped in brown napkins. Really? It was a middle aged or more lady that waited on me and I thought to myself, I have bought doughnuts many times in my life but it was the first time anyone ever wrapped them in napkins. It really ticked me off because I had spent $2. for chocolate to be all over the napkins and inside of the bag. Don't know that I will be going back because that is some slack customer service to do that.

When it first opened the menu was AMAZING and the food was always delicious. As with any restaurant it has gone through growing pains and the menu has changed little by little. The food is good and I enjoy most of the selections but feel the focus has shifted to satisfy the bar crowds and not the "foodies" that expect a bit more. Seating is tight but the best that this small town has to offer. Wouldn't make it in Greensboro or Charlotte for sure but the best in Mocksville.

I will definitely return! Can't wait to try breakfast! Staff was amazing, so welcoming and provided great service.
This restaurant is just a short ride from Statesville/Cool Springs area - right on the side of 64. You order at the counter and then your food is brought to the table. Has a wide variety, everything from burgers and chicken tenders to daily specials.
At our table we tried the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Carolina Pork Sandwich with Potato Salad and of course...sweet tea.
This is hands down the best sweet tea I've had in a very long time! It is very sweet, but just right. The waitress kept my glass full - not only tea, but kept filling with ice as well. Never had to ask, so attentive!
The cheeseburger was great. Had to be freshly made. Topped with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It was very flavorful and not greasy. The fries were "crinkle cut" and cooked & seasoned perfectly.
The pork sandwich was a delightful surprise. I was expecting something like a BBQ sandwich, but this was soooo much better. It was a roughly shredded pork sandwich that was well seasoned and had slaw on it. The pork was so tender and juicy. Couldn't quite describe the flavor...so I'll just call it delicious. The slaw on the sandwich was also quite good, I'm guessing it was homemade as well. Just the right amount of crunch and hint of vinegar. This was paired with a side of potato salad which was also very good.
Everything I saw at other tables looked so good. Can't wait to visit again to try something else!

It's starts with the delicious bean dip that comes with your chips...but then you have a huge selection of salsas at the SALSA bar. The portions are HUGE, and the selection of plates are mind blowing. Service is always friendly and fast...and it all comes at a reasonable price.

I am a South Carolina low country bbq person. This is some good q. I will be back and would have no problem recommending it. The menu shows a good assortment including a pimento cheese burger. Wonderful local atmosphere. They make you comfortable.

Friendly, efficient staff which is a plus. Had to ask for a salsa with more kick since they one they brought out tasted like pureed tomatoes. The spicier one had a ways to go before it could be considered spicy. The fish tacos were served with a corn tortilla which gets props. They were flavorful and I would order them again.
