Don't expect much selection. Just settle for coffee and juice. This is quite common among mid-price hotels in Japan so this is not significantly below what is norm in Japan.

We ate at this lovely restaurant last night where the food was prepared in front of us. Each course was excellent and the french wines good too.The service matched the quality of the food and the symphony of the two chefs was amazing to watch.A must visit if your in Sendai

We stayed at the Sendai Royal Park Hotel for 5 nights and tried all of their restaurants. We liked this one the best. We had an interesting and delicious "tansu" lunch, a set Japanese meal with tempura -- lots of it and very good --that came with a little chest of Japanese goodies. Delicious rice. We would have gone again to the same restaurant except that there are only set meals plus a lunch buffet of Western foods. In mid-May on a warm day we were able to eat out on the patio and enjoy the garden. If you stay here, the buffet breakfasts are excellent with lots of choice.

We had beef tongue lunch set - that was good. When the food was served, we had politely asked the waitress to help take a photo for us. Her reply was shocking - "I'm so sorry I can't. For the time that I've taken to speak to you, I would have already taken the photo for you. Sorry." Whilst I understand that they may be busy at lunch hours, I didn't think that was an appropriate response for a customer. There are a lot of nice beef tongue restaurants around Sendai station, so if you are like me and value good service, skip this place.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.Symphony restaurant features a relaxed atmosphere with spectacular views over the city.
Ate breakfast four times in this restaurant while booked at the Westin, and enjoyed it each time. Winners include: Cold-pressed melon/apple/orange juices, Zao cheese milk, steamed short-grained rice eaten with shiso roll, kamaboko (boiled fish paste), koume (small pickled plum), natto (fermented soybeans), nameko, wakame and naganegi in miso (mushrooms, kelp and local leeks in seasoned soybean broth), gluten-free rice bread slices, slices of smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and onions. Great introduction for foreigners to local tastes. Highly recommendable.
