Missouri, United States Food Guide: 4 Asian food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Kansas City

September 12, 2019 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Reviews on Asian food in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The home of swing and bebop for some, "The City of Fountains" to others, Kansas City is different things to different people. Music enthusiasts are drawn to the jazz clubs and old haunts of famous musicians such as Charlie Parker and Count Basie. With more fountains than Rome, there is ample opportunity for scenic strolling from fountain to fountain. Stop along the way to discover interesting neighborhoods and browse through eclectic shops. Families are particularly attracted to the city because of its child-friendly events and venues. Science City features hands-on exhibits including a mock television studio where kids can deliver a weather forecast, while the Zoo houses impressive African and Australian exhibits plus an IMAX Theater. The city's museums cover everything from the history of jazz music to a celebration of African American baseball players. Once a trading post for pioneers heading to the Western United States, today Kansas City is a burgeoning metropolis with activities and attractions for visitors of all ages and interests.

I thought the concept of "Cafe Gratitude" was to bring in those who cannot afford a fancy meal (prices are not cheap here) and the "haves" and "have nots" could share a table and a meal. That doesn't seem to happen at this location. Apparently, according to our server, the California locations have more of that - people donating to pay it forward so that others who come in can have a subsidized, discounted meal. Anyway, the food was good. Service good. Atmosphere is funky chic - hippy-esque. It is a tasty spot. Would not mind popping in again next time we are in Kansas City.

We moved from Kansas City to Florida last year. We recently visited to welcome our new Granddaughter. Vietnam Cafe was one of our 1st stops. We love and miss it so much. The owner and all the staff always goes above and beyond our expectations. We have searched all over Florida for a Vietnamese restaurant that can at least come close. We found a good one BUT they don't offer the delicious Crab rangoon, Fried shrimp egg rolls, Seafood Pho,( sigh) Boo,Hoo. I forgot to ask the owner if they can ship..Yummy!!!

Corner Cafe

There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they

This was likely our last trip to a Corner Cafe after going there for years,$4.49 slice of strawberry pie had ONE strawberry in it, rest was just filler. Ham & Bean soup had gristle/fat. $5.99 hamburger(no sides) was a frozen pattie like you'd get at a QT.At least the banana cream pie was very good.Roxanne's is better/cheaper IMHOWe strive to serve high quality 'comfort food' prepared simply. We choose to use higher quality ingredients and larger portions than most of our competition which means that our costs are often times greater than theirs. We are very sorry to hear about your experience with the food you ordered. We seek to offer great food to each guest and clearly your visit was not what we strive to deliver to our customers. If you would be willing to send your contact information to [email protected], we would like to further address the issues you experienced.

I don't understand why this restaurant is so popular. They don't take reservations, there's a long wait to be seated, service is slow, the menu selections sound unappetizing, the portions are small, and the food is mediocre. The 2 stars are for the delicious bubble drinks.
