The food is very good and the service can't be beat. They are fast and extremely friendly and the restaurant and restrooms were spotless. Our waiter Manny was outstanding! We had their signature Machete, it was excellent and a lot of food. Their homemade chips and dips are very unique, I have never had any like them. The Machete is the most expensive thing on the menu, but very fair priced for the high quality and the large quantity of food that you receive. We took half home for lunch the next day. There are some negatives, while it was nice not having to wait, it was oddly uncomfortable at 5:40 PM on a Friday night with mild April weather to be one of only 3 tables of quests. The menu is very limited and they don't sell alcohol, which is very unfortunate because we always have Margaritas with Mexican food when eating out. Oddly they also charge for refills on soft drinks and tea. I don't know of any other restaurants in the area that do that. While I loved the extremely nice fast service with no waiting, and the food was very good for a fair price, with the limited menu and no alcohol, I don't think we will go back. There are two other Mexican food restaurants about the same distance from our house that also have good service and food with similar prices, but unlike this restaurant they also have expanded menus and alcohol. These differences may be the reason this place was empty on what should have been a busy Friday night.

It's an average Mexican style restaurant for the Midwest. Not a great one.Salsa & chips were decent.Fajitas were over cooked onions went past carmelized to burnt. Tamales were excellent with a good strong corn flavor. Red sauce was literally tomatoes soup. Probably not coming back.

My wife and I just had dinner here. My fajitas were great and she liked her taco salad. Portions are large for the price. I wasn't crazy about the chips and salsa but that's minor.

My husband and I went for lunch. There is patio seating but we ate inside as it was just a little too warm and humid for us. We were seated promptly. Drink order taken at once. The menu is extensive and includes calorie counts for each item. Whew, that is a blessing and a curse! I'm happy they added calorie counts. That info needsTo be there. I wish that there were a few more moderate to low calorie options. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos. Very tasty and a good portion size. My husband decided on a chicken entree which came with chimichurri lime rice and veggies which were really tasty. Loved the rice with that dish and I'm not a rice eater per se. Free chips and salsaTo begin the meal. Service once the entrees were served went down hill. Hard to get our waitress ' attention. It wasn't that she was waiting on other tables, she, the hostess and another woman were chatting. If you're going to gossip at least look around to see if any of your customers needs you.

The place is small and clean, I had the fried chicken tacos, they were very tasty but the Chicken enchiladas were wonderful. Everything is cooked when ordered so unless you call in your order you will be waiting a bit for your food. I was worth the wait!!Service is good, one waitress and she was doing great to keep up, SMILING the whole time.

We ate here for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We were the first ones there for dinner, but by the time we left, the restaurant was full. All of the staff at this family-run restaurant were friendly and helpful. The chips and salsa were great. We both ordered the daily special. The strawberry jalepeno maragarita is a must-try for margarita lovers. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Independence.

My husband and I stopped in on a recent Friday afternoon for an early dinner. This was our first time to try it and we were VERY pleasantly surprised and delighted with the food, prices, service and atmosphere. The restaurant is in a strip center and not too appealing from the outside, however, once inside, we were promptly greeted and seated by a very nice waiter, Andres. He was very personable and efficient in taking our orders and making recommendations. The chips were very good as was the salsa. I especially liked the cheese dip which was much thicker than the running white cheese dips served by other Mexican restaurants in the area. Our food was hot and delicious and I can find nothing to complain or criticize. We will definitely be back again soon.

I visited this place on #margaritaday Friday evening for the first time with three others. What I liked - The food was good with reasonable portions; I had the avocado tostadas. I liked the chips and salsa, though it took a while for those to be brought to the table as the restaurant was slammed with business on this particular evening. Though the service was slow due to this, the service was friendly. The restaurant was smaller than I expected and if you are seated at the tables, they are pretty close together, especially if the restaurant is packed. The acoustics when it is this busy make it difficult to hear every word of the conversations going on at the table too. I want to go back for another visit when it is not quite so busy.

We stopped for lunch yesterday, and were told that the fajitas were the lunch special. Our drinks came quickly, followed by well-prepared chicken fajitas with the trimmings. Everything was seasoned just right, and we took left-overs home. Our server was attentive, water was refilled without asking, and she checked back a couple of times to make sure we had what we needed.
