Enjoyed a business lunch with friendly attentive staff, generous portions and affordable pricing. You can see the beer distillery machinery in a corner lower room of the restaurant. Knowing the footprint history of the iconic Droege’s Supermarket that once resided here, always brings a smile to my face when dining here. Go...U will like.

Big Boys Subs and Wings

We were enjoying a few drinks at the VFW Post 2661 next door with my old Navy buddy and we ordered from Fat Boys. (They walked the order over to us) We had six different orders and they got them all correct. I had a sub that was out of this world and most everyone else had wings (boneless and bone in). Their "boneless" wings were actually chicken tenders and were huge and were out of this world.

My friend and I attended a local political meeting here on a Thursday night. Love the comfortable, family atmosphere and friendly service. I only got a peach smoothie, which was excellent. Everyone around me was raving about the pizza, though, and I will jump on it when I visit again!

was craving prime rib so I took advantage of their Friday and Saturday prime rib special. The cut of meat was very good. It was fixed as ordered. The sides were good, especially the chopped house salad, with small diced vegetables. The broccoli is seasoned very nicely. On another visit I had their mushroom Swiss burger. It was really good. They have the best hamburger in the area. Go early to avoid the crowds.

While traveling through the area, we stopped at an American legion, where locals recommended this place to us. We loved the location, sitting in their courtyard, watching trains and the river across the street. Inside has an old pub atmosphere. It was busy, but food and service were both excellent.

Six of us went for lunch and expected more. Waitress was lovely, but my smothered chicken which was the daily special took 15 minutes longer than everyone else's food...not her fault, but no explanation of what happened was offered, just a quick apology. The fries were frozen crinkle fries, the chicken fried steak was salty, the Cole slaw was really oniony, and the chicken was just okay. Desserts looked terrific, would just get dessert if we were ever to return which is unlikely.

Mind-blowing wicked good, best ravioli I’ve ever had in 53 years! Salad was full of crispy bacon, and the green goddess is superb. Scalloped potatoes yum, and hubs loved the seafood stuffed chicken. No picture of the bread pudding we shared - but the portion was huge, and a man nearby ate two!!

Seven of us went for lunch and five were very disappointed. The Chicken/Biscuit sauce was not great the the biscuit disintegrated, the smoked artichoke hearts in batter tasted like ashes-not one of us would eat any after our first bite, beans were sweet and pretty good, ribs were very very dry and cold, turkey sandwich was giant thick slices on a teeny bun that my mom couldn't figure out how to eat, the hash was pretty much just potatoes, potato salad was boring, fries were incredibly salty so nobody would eat them and the pork was pretty good. BEST BEST BEST was the gooey butter cake, pecan pie and chocolate mud pie..I'd go again and get dessert to go, but skip the BBQ.Wow... so very sorry to hear your experience wasn't the great meal and atmosphere most of our have customers come to expect. I'd hope if there were that many problems you would ask our friendly staff about taking care of some of them. They are all trained to fix or replace anything that is not up to your liking. Please send us some contact information - so we can try to make it right for you and your family. Send us a message at [email protected].

Our family of six took a drive through Washington and stopped at Cowan's for lunch. The food was delicious (even our pickiest eater was pleased), reasonably priced, and our server was great! We usually skip dessert, but could not resist a piece of pie, and it was worth it!
