Love the place and always get great service from the staff. Hate they have raised the prices, but who hasn't?
Passing through Festus I stopped by Gordonâs on a top, it didnât disappoint. Ad I rolled into the parking lot I saw more than ample parking ( cruising night ). I ordered the signature Philly cheese.. wit cheese whiz , it came wrapped in butchers paper and it was as piping hot and the cheese was oozing. So how did it taste , it was as delicious as it looked. A soft roll of bread with chopped prime rib with a lot of taste. I didnât try the fries just the sammich. This little shack also has 4 barstools and a picnic bench to eat alfresco. So if youâre ever in Crystal City / Festus stop by Gordons for your Philly cheese.
We anxiously anticipated the opening of Rumors on Ice. The owners worked so hard to create a unique and relaxing atmosphere in Crystal City; however, the food and service is so poor that I'm not sure we will be back. We went about 6 times hoping that it would improve. The other night, for instance, we waited for over 20 minutes for someone to come out and take our drink order. Finally, the owner walked by and asked if we had been taken care of. Then, we were given 1 menu for all of us to share. Our food was tasteless and my soup was cold--not even luke-warm. We never get a coaster for our drinks on any of our visits. We've often got mixed drinks that were so bad we couldn't drink them. We have to ask for everything we need--napkins, silverware, etc. There are no condiments like salt or pepper on the tables. We're so sad and disappointed in how poorly things are run. One of the Worst parts is that the smoking area has now spilled over to the deck area and the smell wafts over the rest of the outdoor area. Workers constantly walk by us to go out to smoke. A LOT more training needs to happen FAST of I don't see this place staying open.

Great old fashioned cafe. With great old fashioned food and pricing. Big helpings, so if you go away hungry.....well I don't know then.I always order the chicken fingers and I swear it's like 2 whole breasts. I can usually only eat one, especially after a salad, roll and 2 other sides.

A lot of people are smoking meats these days, and everyone has their own tastes. This place is fair-priced and reasonably good. Some of the sides are very good and some sides are just average. We were pleased to find some good BBQ sauce on another table that rounded out the smoked meat nicely. This was a second visit and they've been pretty consistent on the food and good service. If I could change one thing, it would be to have meat that was slightly less dry with the same smoky flavor.

Food was wonderful. Veal chop was large and cooked exactly as my husband likes it. Service was great. Shelby was very attentive. Ann, the bartender even came to our table for wine tasting so we could decide what we wanted. While we were just passing through Festus, if we ever get back here, this would be a restaurant we would definitely return to.

Good food and plenty of it. If you go away hungry it's your own fault. Waitstaff always efficient and friendly. Also a good senior menu that is always on the spot.

We recently attended a wedding in Arnold, MO. We had some time to kill before the reception so decided to head 10 minutes South to Festus to sample brews and good at Main and Mill. The brews were more than admirable. My wife went for the Summer Porter and I opted for a limited release IPA. As vegans we were able to find some options for eats. I went with the Match Burger and fries. My wife opted for a salad. Both were good. Ultimately the beer is why you should land at Main and Mill. It's certainly worth the trip for any St. Louis area beer tourists.

First time here and I loved it! The service was great, the food was fresh and served quickly! Also, the prices were extremely affordable! It's a very cozy diner with limited seating, but they do have picnic tables outside as well. They also have the option to call ahead and then pick up. Glad I stopped in!
