Discover Restaurants offering the best Mexican food in Vicksburg, Mississippi, United States. Sitting high atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers, the city of Vicksburg was the setting of a bloody 47 day siege during the Civil War. The site of this epic battle is now Vicksburg National Military Park, preserving original fortifications and the U.S.S. Cairo, an ironclad gunboat that once prowled the waters of the Mississippi River. Vicksburg is also the place where Coca-Cola was first bottled, a fact that is happily immortalized at the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.

For the expensive price Taco Bell is now charging, at least train your staff to speak, greet, thank and serve. My visit sucked because of workers NOT CARING about customer. Was very disappointed in them and the food was garbage.
I stock up on enchiladas when I go there. I make a special trip there every time I am in Vicksburg. They are so good and even my picky nieces have started to ask for them!
Went here expecting it to be "like the Texas chain". That is totally false. The cashier was so rude we left. She rolled her eyes and walked off while we were seeing what to order. I am always up for new places. Check my profile. I am always fair and travel a lot. I am going to make sure to warn fellow Texans about this place.

I was in Vicksburg for work and asked the one Latina working at the hospital if there were a lot of Latino people in Vicksburg. She said facetiously that she was the only one. While that isn't true, there certainly weren't many. So, to have some quality Mexican food seemed to be a far stretch. However, Sol Azteca was recommended by another coworker and I took a chance. Whenever I try a new Mexican restaurant I always order the Chile Verde first. It's a personal litmus test. If they do chile verde right, they will get high respect from me. Chile verde was on the menu and I ordered it burrito style. It was not what I expected. Typically chile verde is pork stewed in green chiles and so it is a wetter dish. What I got was a burrito with pork prepared more like fajita style and a pale green sauce on top of the burrito. Here's the deal...it was delicious! The pork was so tender but it appeared that it had been griddled to give it some char and crispy edges. And there was a lot of it too. The sauce was tangy and and a great accent to the pork. So, while this was not what I expected, I was not disappointed. Service was average.

A friend of mine recommend Los Parrilleros and specifically the fajitas. They have several fajitas choices but I had the combination with chicken, shrimp and Chorizo. It was very good. Service was excellent. .
Overnight at HI in route to beach. Decided to eat here based on TA reviews. It's not Mexican! Chips and dip is nothing more than a bowl full of Pace Picante sauce. Burger was so salted my son couldn't finish it. Wait for food was almost an hour. Not a good night time restaurant. The breakfast buffet is up to HI standards and was a good value with quality food.

The biscuits are very good; however, they serve them with packaged jelly just like any budget hotel. There is a store next to this business that offers Mississippi made products, they should source from them. Drinks were OK, but a bit too strong. There is a nice view out the window, and service is good, but this restaurant could be much better.

Spent the night in Vicksburg traveling from Florida to Texas, and wanted Mexican food. This was close to our hotel, so we decided to try it. My wife and I both ordered the two-tamale and enchilada combination plate ($8.99), and my son ordered the taquito plate ($7.99). We also ordered the Nachos Supremos ($7.75) and I added a tossed salad ($2.50). It was all outstanding. I haven't given many 5-dot reviews, but this was an all-around great experience -- the food, service, everything. Would definitely return.
