This restaurant is located in the Guest House we stayed at in Natchez. We are often a little skeptical about the quality of restaurants associated with hotels. The first night we ate dinner there for convenience mostly, after the Front desk manager at the Guest House said their wraps are delicious. My husband and I both got chicken wraps with some kind of sauce (it was something like swarma sauce). The wraps come with a choice of two sides; I chose the house salad with feta cheese and roasted vegetables. Everything was delicious, with lots of fresh ingredients. It was so good that we went back the next night for dinner. This time we both got something called moussaka (though it was spelled differently than that.) It was pieces of roasted eggplant with a tahini sauce on top and little toasted pita pieces; it came also with the choice of two sides. The moussaka was delicious! As part of our stay at the Guest House, we got to eat there for our breakfasts as well. The food was freshly prepared; the bacon was perfectly done; the fruit salad choice was very good. The service was very fast. If we were in Natchez, we would definitely go back to Farrah’s again.WOW!!! Thank you so much for the detailed review! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and your dining experiences while at The Guest House!

Your full service restaurant is a neat little place. Great little salad bar (need blue cheese dressing). The Sunday buffet was not good @ all. Canned green beans, canned sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing in an aluminum pan (bought/pre-made??). My family members were not happy with the quality. Need to beef up the quality of your veggies @ both your locations.

Google Maps misdirected us but we finally found this little family owned seafood restaurant. It was "OK" but other reviews had our hopes raised a bit more than the reality of what we found. Still, it was a nice meal. The fish fillet's were great, the shrimp and oysters a bit too brown. The wife had the steamed shrimp and they were good but we had experienced better in other locations... over all still glad we went to check it out for ourselves. The staff was friendly and gracious hosts.

We really wanted fried chicken and a server at another restaurant recommended the Pilot House. The menu offered 3 pieces of chicken, rice with gravy and green beans. Sounded like a winner to us. The chicken was quite good, crispy, flavorful and hot. The two sides were pretty terrible. The brown gravy on the rice had absolutely no taste. Even Franco-American beef gravy has some flavor. The green beans were obviously canned French-style green beans. The cook added some salt pork and then cooked the you know what out of them until they were a gross gray-green color. For dessert we had the Pecan pie and it was good, warm, gooey and served with a scoop of praline ice cream. The ambiance is nice and the view of the river is really lovely.

Jughead’s was clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was superb. We got a seafood platter and it was fresh, seasoned perfectly, generous, and fried perfectly. Not greasy. Their coleslaw was delicious, their hush puppies/ corn fritters seemed homemade... they were very good.

This place overlooks the mighty Mississippi River. We wanted to sit upstairs but it was packed. We had a good meal and enjoyed our experience. The Oysters Bienville were delicious. We liked our entrees and I tried the chocolate peacan pie. That was disappointing. In addition they do not serve vanilla ice cream so that made the dessert less tempting.

Roux 61 Seafood & Grill

Reviewed By michaelpB9473OL

It seems I just couldn’t get the food experience right this trip. Roux was not as bad as another restaurant, but it was not great either. Living on the Northshore/ New Orleans area we have no shortage of seafood and therein could be the main problem I had with Roux 61. The food was not horrible, but just nothing outstanding. People seem to love the Alligator sausage cheesecake. I ordered it and my wife and ate about half of it. It was ok and she didn’t care for it all. Not sure what makes people think it’s wonderful. It really wasn’t, just different. I also had chargrilled oysters and they were on par with a multitude of restaurants I have had at home. They were good! We shared a seafood platter. The catfish I am pretty sure were frozen and fried. The meat was a little mushy in the middle and not flaky like catfish should be. The place was simply average. Nothing was horrendous, but I wouldn’t go back. Our biggest issues are servers need training in the handling of dishes and how to place/ remove them from the table. Everyone that handled our plates (2-3 employees) had their hands all over them with food on the plates before sitting down in front of us. Our server reached over our food to place other food down. Not our server, but another one was walking through the restaurant with her hands in her hair!!!! Can’t imagine what she we do not in front of customers. It’s a toss up, try it and you may experience the 4.5 star review place and not my 3 star place.
