Bapa's Bistro and Lounge is a family friendly restaurant located inside the Holiday Inn and Suites.
Order delivery or spend the time driving. The convenience of having this restaurant is not worth the money for the poor quality of food. I ordered a simple hummus plate and someone in the back thought it was acceptable to put old celery on the dish. I'm sure the person wouldn't have thought twice about eating it themselves, but thought it was okay to serve. Just terrible.

Your typical mom & pop country café serving the best Cajun dishes in this side of Mississippi. The location is convenient to Camp Shelby just outside the Southgate entrance. The eating area is small so take out is best advised or else come early before the rush. Great customer service!

Ate here with my family for lunch on a Saturday. The place is a sports bar with giant TVs everywhere and lots of noise (which does not bother us). The waitress was good. Our orders were taken promptly and the food came out pretty quickly. The food is just OK - not bad, but nothing to write home about either. I had the fried shrimp. It was OK. Obviously frozen and not fresh but did not expect much more from a sports bar anyway. My husband loved his prime rib sandwich.I was disturbed by one thing. As we were leaving, mu older cousin fell from the unmarked, large step outside the restaurant. He struck his head on the concrete and was bleeding as well as developing a large hematoma on the side of his forehead. One of the younger cousins ran into the restaurant to get some ice for him but NO ONE from the restaurant staff bothered to come out and check on him. If I were managing a restaurant and a customer fell while on my property, I surely would go out and check on him. Luckily, my cousin was OK; we took him to the local ER and everything checked out fine. But the lack of concern by restaurant staff is very disturbing. It is for this reason that I am giving the service a poor grade. I do not have any desire to return to this establishment.

After a 7+ hour drive to town for a funeral, we wanted to try something different. Glad we did. It was cool enough to sit on the patio which appears to be the main dinning area. Well planned and well built patio. Nice New Orleans feel. HugeFans and nice evening lighting. WeHit happy hour. Drinks are doubles. We spilt a dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our transition from the long drive. Great friendly server.

We always stop here when travel this way and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, portions are large, service is great, and prices are not cheap but reasonable for the value received. We started with fried crab claws which were plump and delicious. Todayâs special was grilled mahi mahi for me and a cheeseburger for the wife. I love their salads and the mahi was perfectly cooked. The cheese burger was accompanied by grilled onions and fried onions on a wonderful homemade bun. We barely had room for the white chocolate bread pudding. But we did and it was delicious. Never had a bad meal here!!

Not sure if my wife and her sister enjoyed a wonderful array of fun and well made drinks better or the delectable desserts! but the huge portions of homemade ribs, veggies and sides were the clincher. While not a rib place persay, it should be. I've had ribs in 20 states and Cotton Blues ribs were amazing. The top it off, service was friendly, attentive and helpful. Best if all the places we've eaten on this visit to Hattiesburg.
