The hamburger was cold, the fries were limp and gross, and the drink tasted flat. That's the hideous hat trick. Go to some other place!

Was driving north on Highway 45 and was getting hungry. Used the GPS to locate a restaurant close by and wound up in Newton MS. Well the restaurant on the GPS no longer existed but low and behold right around the corner was Grits and Grace. They had a chalk board menu for lunch which had two entrees available. The meals are inclusive which included a salad, entree, desert and a drink.Salad was lettuce, tomatoe and a couple of items and everything was fresh. Salad dressing was good. The entree was delicious. I had the oven fried pork chop with stuffing and fresh corn on the side. For desert I had the banana pudding and wasn't disappointed with that either. The place was so busy folks were standing in line waiting for a table. Since I was traveling by myself and had a large table, I invited an elderly couple to share the table. They were very nice folks from Newton and this made the meal even better. I give Grits and Grace two thumbs up.

I stopped here during a bit of traveling and the restaurant and restrooms were clean. I got my order quickly and my egg white mcmuffin meal was delicious. The restaurant is located just off Interstate 20. Good location.

Zack Garvin's Original Steak House

Reviewed By SGMTommy

We were traveling between Jackson and Meridian and based on Trip Advisor reviews decided to try Zack Garvin's Original Steak House. Maybe they were having an off night because of a large group (I counted seventeen) but we found the food to be average and the service extremely slow. My wife and I both had the prime rib and it was served at room temperature. My wife had the sweet potato which was good and I had the steamed vegetable which were ok. Bread and butter was good. We opted for the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and it was a large serving and was good. The prices were reflective of a fine dining establishment but the quality of the food and the service did not reflect them being a fine dining establishment. We probably would not return. We would opt to wait and dine in Jackson or Meridian!
