One of our favorite restaurants anywhere, but not so good this past Tuesday night. Roasted Oysters were served with shell pieces in them, and served extremely cold, everything else was fine. Complained to the bartender, as we ate at the bar, but she didn't get it, said that the oysters were from Virginia? Virginia oysters has nothing to do with them being cold, and pitted with shell fragments. Rest of the meal was fine.

Our table had hand patted meat and super flavor burgers, an amazing quesadilla and the Cajun Cobb. I will tell you, everyone else at the table stared and wanted to trade for my Cobb Gorgeous, interesting salad lotsa bang for the buck! I gave 4 stars because the service was spotty & a bit indifferent. The big doors were open and the sunny day coupled with a nice breeze... yes.

We're traveling and found ourselves in Ocean Springs MS on Thanksgiving Day. We looked for a place for dinner and lucked into Lagniappe's Thanksgiving brunch. And boy, were we lucky! This is an utterly charming restaurant in a 100 year old house and owned by Patsy and John Switzer. Patsy, the chef, prepared a spectacular menu that started with a a tasty butternut squash-pumpkin soup and included roast pork with stuffing, Patsy's famous gumbo, seafood casserole, turkey and sides that had a gourmet Southern twist. Everything absolutely delicious! Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, the staff made us feel right at home. Our only disappointment - the restaurant is only open occasionally and wasn't open again while we were in town. If you live in the Ocean Springs area or plan to visit, put yourself on their email list to be notified of their openings. If you're in town unexpectedly, give them a call like we did. It's a dining experience not to be missed!

I know what youâre thinking- Seafood at a Gas station? Come on, man.No, seriously, the wifey and I have consumed mass quantities of gulf coast delights fried up inside gasoline stations from Louisiana to Florida.Fayardâs was no exception. $12 for a seafood platter (shrimp, oyster and softshell with two sides), excellent Po Boys (we had a shrimp and an oyster). The homemade Tater Salad was a gastro delight along with the onion rings.A plastic fork and spoon up for Fayardâs just off I-10 at the St Martin/Washington Ave exit 50 onto MS-609.Wifeyâs only complaint was it their foods were a tad peppery hot for her likings. It was good, but just a bit too hot. And, I think Fayardâs is inside a Marathon Station as of this visit.
