I was disappointed, living near KC and having 60 BBQ joints to chose from I have had plenty of BBQ plus trips to Memphis and all over the South. The brisket was moist and very tender. It also had very little flavor almost no smoke flavor like it was in a pressure cooker or crock pot. The chicken was a little dry and again not much smoke flavor but more then the brisket. The ribs were the best of the 3 meats I had, although just barely warm when I received them. They had a cola type glass so pretty sweet. The Mac and cheese was pretty good and coleslaw was just okay. The bartender was very good and highly knowledgeable of local brews.

I stopped here for dinner. I ordered the three meat meal and it was very good. The staff was quick and courteous. The extras on the condiment bar are always nice: great choices of BBQ and soft serve ice cream.
We googled for a barbecue place while passing through Jackson and found this amazing place. There was a buffet with an excellent assortment of great Southern style cooking. We had pulled prk sandwiches and a variety of sides - all delicious. There were
What a find! We searched on the Internet to find a barbeque joint while traveling through Jackson, MS, and lucked out when we found Lumpkins. We had no idea how far off our route it was, but we set the GPS and set out to find it. Luckily, it was easy to find and not far off the Interstate, though the neighborhood was certainly not the best. Undeterred, we stopped and were rewarded with terrific food, a friendly, welcoming staff, and they even had two guitar players playing for tips. The food was buffet style and offered a varied selection of down home cooking. I had cornbread, baked beans, fried green tomatoes, and the biggest pulled pork sandwich I've ever seen. Everything was delicious. Along with my meal came cupcakes for dessert and iced tea. The total cost was $5.00 - what a bargain! I only scratched the surface with the buffet offerings, so I can't wait for another trip to try out some of the other dishes. The pulled pork sandwich alone is worth the trip, but the ribs looked mighty fine, too.
