Flavors as big and bold as the view! Experience the Bluefin Grille's sophisticated yet casual atmosphere while savoring the most breathtaking views available on the North Shore. Along with scenery, you'll enjoy spectacular regionally inspired cuisine.
We got dressed up and went here for a nice dinner while staying at the bluefin. We asked to be seated upstairs as we heard about the view. We were surprised to see alot of families that had come from the pool. Wet hair and bare feet. Tired and laying around on the booth benches. Mostly booths. Not many tables so not exactly the romantic spot were were looking for. Anyway we had good service with a nice wine. I has scallops that I enjoyed and hubs had angel hair pasta with seafood that was delicious. Was quite expensive

For years Bob and I have been coming to the NorthShore and eating at the Coho Cafe. This last trip, the Cal of the Wild pizza lacked tomato sauce and flavor from wild mushrooms. I've had this in the past and it tasted great. I'm not sure what they have changed but it was not for the better.

Four of us came for dinner on a Thursday evening early May, before the real tourist season started. The pub is part of the Lutsen Hotel complex. There was a male singer/guitarist entertaining the third full pub. We ordered 2 pizzas between the four of us, the omni and the carnivore. There was plenty enough for us. I thought the prices were a bit high--each pizza was $26--and they were nice but nothing special. Service was ok, but once our food was served the waitress never came back to top up our drinks.Hi there,Thank you for taking the time to review the Poplar River Pub. I'm glad you enjoyed the pizzas and will be sure to pass along your comments about the service and price points to our Food and Beverage Team.Hope to see you again soon.Katie KrantzMarketing Director

Two of us ordered different fish preparations; one of us ordering artic char as the dish was presented on the menu; the other requesting walleye with the preparation listed for the artic char. The pleasant waitress assured us that the kitchen was there to please us, and that tailoring the presentation to my taste would be an easy accommodation. When my order arrived, it was not as I had ordered, but as it was listed on the menu. The waitress apologized, and offered to return it to the kitchen. We had already waited some time for our dinner, and I chose to accept it as delivered. That being said, the fish was very good. The service is pleasant, but slow. We waited quite a while for someone to take our drink order. Our first glasses of white wine were barely chilled, so the maître d' offered to chill a bottle to lower the temperature to our liking. We waited, choosing that option. The problem is there is a new wine dispensing station (much touted) with many bottles of wine in a row to be poured by the glass. It isn't cold enough. And a word of advice: no matter which way the wine is chilled, be prepared for a 3 oz pour (for $12). Might better order a local beer.To the restaurant's credit, my meal was comped because of the mix up. Overall, the food is very good. The wine pour is skimpy for the price. The professional details are lacking.Hi there,Thank you for taking the time to review the Strand Waterfront Dining Room. I'm glad you enjoyed the fish despite the mix up with preparations. I will let the F&B team know about your comments about the temperature of the wine, however, one of the advantages of the wine dispenser is that in ensures each glass is measured to equal a standard 5 oz. pour. We do use larger wine glasses, so sometimes the look can be deceiving. I apologize about that. Thanks again for your comments.Katie KrantzMarketing Director

The restaurant seemed understaffed as we had to wait 20 minutes even though the place was half empty. We shared appetizers and they were just ok, nothing great. Service was good once we were seated. Go because itâs convenient but donât expect anything fantastic and youâll be ok.

Award winning serving breakfast until 2pm, lunch from 11-close and dinner from 4-C. Handcrafted meals, vegetarian options, fresh fish seasonally. Happy hour 3-6 pm with half price appetizers and drink specials from our full bar.
Visited on a Sunday evening late in their season. Staff were friendly and attentive without overdoing. Clam chowder was spot on. Steak bites for an app, dipped in a sort of buffalo sauce but not hot, just the perfect warmth. We both had the walleye dinner which was a really big portion and very good. This is a gem on the North Shore.

Average breakfast in Lutsen Minnesota. We ate here on Monday for breakfast. The breakfast was very basic eggs, English muffin, and bacon. The bacon was the best part of the meal obviously, however it was cooked perfectly. The store also offers a wide variety of grocery items. They have bakery items in a glass case near the cash register. We were interested in purchasing some of those until we saw 4 flies flying around inside the glass case. Other than that, which can happen to anyone, give it a try. Located in Lutsen Minnesota. The building and business was also for sale listed for $950,000.
