Great food, nicely spiced, perfect for those of us who need to be gluten free. This one is close to the university campus, so it is a bit loud sometimes for my older ears, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the food.
Burrito Wings, despite its somewhat ungainly name, is a true Mexican taqueria, the kind you find in California and the U.S. Southwest. Granted, the choices are limited to tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, wings and a few other selections, but the authenticity is there and the quality is great.Like the ubiquitous Chipotle, you go to the the counter, say whether you want a burrito, tacos or whatever, select your fillings, pick up your food and pay. But unlike Chipotle, the food is not over salted, the decor is not harsh steel, and the noise from the music and the crowd does not assault you as you eat. In fact, Buffalo Wings is the kind of Mexican taqueria that Chipotle is based on.Buffalo Wings has a limited selection of Mexican and American tap, and offers margaritas and true Mexican sodas as well as the usual selection of serve-yourself fountain soda.On top of this, the prices are very reasonable, comparable to if not cheaper than Chipotle. Bottom line: It is now our preferred Mexican restaurant in Mankato.
I had the texan tacos - fresh cilantro, onions, avocado & chicken. I had some of their hot sauce and the onions mixed with habaneros. Excellent! Reminiscent of the best street tacos of Mexico!

Ok, I already love this chain, and would eat there every day if it was realistic, but this was an especially yummy day. The meat was great (you know sometimes it is stringy or fatty), everything tasted great, and the gal making the burritos consistently made every one so big that she needed to double wrap them since they wouldn't close. Make you feel like you got a great bang for your buck.

Don't let the old building and decor fool ya, the food is great! Cheese Chilitos are MY FAVORITE! We've been going to Zanz since the 80's and the building, decor and food are the same, never changed, and we LOVE that! Molly, one of the owners always has a smile and "yells" a greeting from the backline.
