Dacotah Restaurant

We attended a concert at Jackpot Saturday evening and stopped in here for dinner beforehand. There were plenty of positive reviews and we had read the menu beforehand and thought it sounded alright. The dining area is akin to most casino buffet areas, not the restaurant areas which this supposedly was. Loud and obnoxious drunken gamblers, food on the floor and the ever present stench of smoke. I am ok with the casino being a smoking environment, I participate while at the gambling tables, but the restaurant really needs a separate ventilation system to allow for a place to sit and eat without the thick smoke smell. We both ordered the salmon and it was described as cedar plank roasted. It was basically smoked all the way through, but dry because smoked salmon needs to be marinated if thats what your going to do with it. It also had enough powerfully fishy dark meat on it to make a pile of that dark stuff on our plates. The wild rice? It was the mixture, not wild rice. I could see some pieces of wild rice in it, but it was the "long grain and wild rice" dish. That should be on the menu that way, as it was a dry mess of very little wild and mostly long grain from uncle ben. The staff was nice enough, but they have very little interest in your actual satisfaction with anything. Our hostess saw the looks on our faces when we were trying to stomach the salmon and mentioned it when handing us our bill. She offered two extra mints for our troubles. This was an incredibly uninviting atmosphere to be in with loud and obnoxious apparently drunk people scattered throughout. We would have to stop our conversation frequently as the laughter and arguments would rise up to the point of being deafening. If you're looking for a decent dinner in Morton, the casino does NOT have it.

Nice remodeled dive bar. Very friendly quick staff. I had the olive burger. 1/3lb Berger with green olives and green olive cream cheese the#1 burger across the street is the larger DUFFY's more supper club like. The freedom bar and grill has all the great bar food you need.

If you're looking for a place to eat while in Redwood Falls, MN it's worth a stop to not only enjoy a salad bar, have pizza, great chicken, and a great variety of dessert pizza you've found it! There was plenty of seating and delivers service with a smile. If they don't have the pizza you're looking for on the pizza line, just let them know and they'll bring it to your table. They'll definately keep you coming back! They're in the process of doing some remodeling but don't let that hold you back...

Chumley's Burger and Brew

Was here on business and went with a co-worker. Stayed at the Redwood Lodge across the street. We went on a Monday night, granted a slow time so maybe it was just a so-so night, but wasn't overly impressed. The burgers were good, as were the steak fries, but seemed more like a pub than a restaurant; the woman bartender was the sole server, and served the whole room the night we were there in addition to the bar; I guess a slow night. Probably better and busier for lunch and on weekends. The beer selection was not that great considering it's a beer and burger place; there were three or four drafts and some bottles, but no pale ales, IPAs, Michelob Ultra or other popular beers. We settled for the local draft, which was ok, but not that great. Overall was an ok meal (burgers and fries were good) with a couple inexpensive beers, but not the greatest place in town, and left still feeling hungry. Maybe should have gotten the pound burger instead!

On the road, this looked like a good place for breakfast. It certainly was !! Prompt service, good coffee, and a filling breakfast. My wife had the Breakfast Duo, with pancakes and bacon. I went with their Best Skillet and an english muffin. Both were delicious. Highly recommend this cafe for breakfast.

We've passed through Redwood Falls many times and we've been disappointed with most of the restaurants we've tried for a nice meal. A friend of ours recommended Duffy's. We found the atmosphere to be nice, it was decorated with a nice outdoors/old time theme, and it was clean. We had burgers and they were good enough that we'll come back and try it again. Our server was great too. Its off the main strip so look it up and give it a try. I'm pretty sure you'll find something you like.
