On a trip to New Prague with my daughter to visit my grandson who is a pastor there, he mentioned that we have to try the Fishtale. As I am always up for ethnic experience foods, I was more than game. As it was Tuesday, the special for that day was roast pork and dumplings and that was my choice, and it was indeed excellent. Lots of meat and more than flavorful. The soup, a house specialty, vomacka, was new to me and of course I had to try.Fresh, full of flavor, fresh dill, it was so different and so good. I was really impressed. The rest of the group had more common food: Walleye, wings, and chicken strips as maybe not as adventuresome as me but all good, and very hefty portions.Service was great, our waitperson was right on top of things and with a smile and refills as needed.I have to applaud the restaurant for doing say a soup out of the norm and then doing it so well. Sometimes here in the Midwest, people hate to get out of their comfort zone, but this was comfort food of the first order. If in the area I would make it a point to come on Tuesday just for the pork, dumplings and soup.Jim at Maplelag in Minnesota

american cafe with a czech influence. Good food done right.Scratch made.
Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.Scrambled eggs with diced ham, French toast, waffles, bacon, au gratin potatoes, fried fish, vomacka, prime rib, pork loin, salads, pastries, and a chocolate fountain! And EVERYTHING was homemade, fresh, and delicious. Ettlinâs, you do it up right. Service was prompt and friendly. They only took as many reservations as they could handle, which meant that the restaurant didnât feel crowded with tons of people standing around waiting to be seated and staring at you while you eat. We were seated near the door, and watched as they turned away many parties who didnât have reservations. (I pitied those folks as I sat contentedly eating Ulrichâs scrumptious food.)I wish that I hadnât gotten full, so that I couldâve kept eating. It was wonderful. Nap time.

I met my Grandkids for dinner and Christmas all in one. My grandson picked the restaurant and what a treat. The service was great and the food even better. The portions were more than we could eat other than my Greatgranddaughter who had to eat her whole burger to get her gifts. Great selections on the menu and for was really really good.
The service is quick--the prices are reasonable--lots of seating-- and the staff smile. Easy in and out--good parking lot. No surprises --just what we like when we get fast food.
