Our weekend brunch visit was lovely! We arrived a little early, but no problem, we were promptly seated at a window table with wonderful views of the Landmark and Rice Park. There were lots of people opting for the outside patio as well - it's on the street, but traffic was light. I would call the interior "American French Bistro". It's casual, yet a little elegant, not too far off from a spot on Montmarte. And the waitstaff were all very "Minnesota friendly" and yet professional. We sampled eggs benedict (great, except for overcooked muffin), crepes, American breakfast, and more. With the exception of the burnt muffin, everything was excellent. Although, portions are more European sized than American, so don't expect huge platters of food.Walked through the bar to the bathroom and had to pause to ogle the beautiful seafood bar with so many wonderful oysters. The bar also reflects that modern french theme and, I understand, has some happy hour options. So, good food, great staff, raw bar options. Nice and prompt service. Yep, I think we'll be back.

Sad to say... slightly disappointed. My daughter picked Salut for her 16th. Drinks came SLOW. Food just seemed a little below par. Calamari was great. Escargot an effort... does Salut now not give proper eating utensils... at least, when asked for, they brought us wooden pick forks to get our snails out of the shells. Bouillabaisse... my favorite dish... disappointing.... crab legs were obviously cooked, kept warm, dried out and thrown on top before the dish was served. Will probably be back to give Salut another try but as my wife said âDo you think it has just gone down a notch?â. Yes.

I enjoyed two visits for breakfast. Salmon scramble and blueberry pancake are very good. Very good coffee. Good service. Yes, you have to walk through a floral/gift shop to get to the cafe. Street parking usually not a problem. Great little place to meet a friend or enjoy breakfast on your own.
