Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Saint Paul. Saint Paul has been called the last city of the East primarily because early developers built it to fit Eastern standards: city squares or parks, towers and turrets, lofty arches, Baroque domes and elaborate adornments abound. Ideal for families and those who like to explore on foot, the capital of Minnesota offers big city attractions with small town manageability. It's an easy and scenic stroll along the banks of the Mississippi River from the Children's Museum to the Science Museum. The kids (and the young at heart) will love them both. Nearby are the grandiose State Capitol, designed by esteemed architect Cass Gilbert and the historic Como Park, which includes lovely picnic areas, a zoo and a conservatory. Also in the mix are modern museums, stately old mansions, interesting natural wonders and unique shops to browse around. Be sure to check out the stellar collection of contemporary works by local artists at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. From four-star luxury to affordable and family-friendly, Saint Paul offers a variety of lodging and dining possibilities making it a great destination for all tastes and budgets.

Love this place! The best Italian restaurant in the Twin Cities! Excellent red sauce, meatballs are fantastic and the sausage is one of a kind from Chicago. Had lasagne with sausage and mushrooms in a rich red sauce and it was so good! Spaghetti and meatballs are another favorite! Cocktails and Italian wine selection are also great. Finish with a wonderful selection of desserts!

Got in to Lake St location on second night. Almost everything was superb: burrata, lasagna, calzone, mafaldine, service, beer and Prosecco (on tap! What?)Only letdown was gnocchi appetizer; while cooked perfectly, that whole pickled garlic sauce just came off weird.Had to wait 45 min for a table but wandered the area. All good here!

Pizza like you would get in Italy! Punch serves authentic Neapolitan pizza cooked in 900 degree wood-burning ovens in a blistering fast 60 seconds. Punch has been recognized as a top pizza restaurant both locally and nationally since opening in 1996. Punc
We've (my daughter and I) have been there twice; we ordered a variety of pizzas and salads and appetizers. There is nothing necessarily wrong with the food (and it's inexpensive), but overall it was bland. The margarita especially, which is probably their staple, was burnt too unevenly and the ingredients didn't didn't seem to be especially flavorful. Especially the sauce. The crowd was a bit suburban for my tastes (as if all of Apple Valley - boring! - was in that night).

I went with a friend to dinner on a Saturday night (with a reservation). While the menu is extensive and food delicious, the service was soooo slow. We were there for two hours and had one drink total. The patio is one of the best in St. Paul. Definitely recommend the ambience- just might try for it on a weeknight instead

Italy's abundant and diverse food styles are represented and sampled throughout the year at Pazzaluna. The many culinary faces of Italy's distinct regions find their way to Pazzaluna's cucina daily. Seasonal influence is always projected, as are the artis
A group of us had dinner in a small room at Pazzaluna, ordering from a limited function menu, which contained interesting choices. The service was very good; wait staff responded quickly and efficiently when one customer knocked over a glass of wine. The food was very good (Iâve enjoyed every meal Iâve had in past years in Pazzaluna) and the dessert, crème brulee, was scrumptious, as acknowledged by the five people at my table. And because the restaurant is across the street from the hotel where we stayed, we cold enjoy a second glass of wine or an a dessert wine with the crème brulee.

Pizza just like in Naples, Italy! Punch Pizza serves authentic Neapolitan pizzas cooked in 900 degree wood-burning ovens in a blistering fast 60 seconds. We use only the highest quality ingredients to make our pizza. Our tomato sauce is simply crushed tom
The service was FAST! The pizza was tasty and there is a large array of options for your add ons. The crust is very good but it is a bit moist for my taste. If it were cooked an extra 30 seconds I would have enjoyed it more. Next time I will ask to cook it a little extra! Thanks for the review. Next time ask for the pizza to be "Punch Dry". The cooks will use less olive oil and tomatoes which makes the pizza less wet (but still delicious). Let us know what you think!

A local Italian restaurant with excellent food. The pizzas looked good but we had an Italian sausage sandwich. Think it was called a Diego. If you are not super hungry split it. It was huge and we still took some home not very big but it is a home cooking food at its best. Prices are very reasonable.Definitely a hidden gem. We went there early so we didnât have to wait. Not very big but I guess itâs always busy. Went there on the recommendation of our son.

DeGidio's is an old-school St. Paul Italian American restaurant with a killer marinara recipe and a budget-pleasing menu.
My husband grew up in a suburb of St Paul and this restaurant has been a local favorite for years. We havenât been here for awhile and simply forgot how good their Italian food was. In Italy, my husband searches on the menu for the robust sauce that he loves so much which can be found here a short distance from home! I ordered the lasagna covered in sauce and was quite delicious. Our server, Heather, was attentive which we appreciated. We wonât wait so long to return!
