Stopped in for lunch and lucked out with the homemade tomato bisque on the dayâs menu. Add a grilled cheese sandwich and a perfect meal. Locally owned, owners are on site and the atmosphere is relaxed. Great service and consistently delicious food! Weâve been regulars for 14 years and keep coming back.

Homemade sauce with our secret mix of seasonings. Dough that's made fresh every morning. Specialty meats and real mozzarella cheese sliced in-house. The sounds of a crimped crust being cut into perfectly-sized squares.. That's what you'll find at Sammy's
The staff here could not be nicer. Every Sammys has one item as a gimmick to make it different from the others. Lakeside Sammys sells calzones and I decided to try one. It was loaded with meat. My concern is they would use a filler like sauce. It had a golden brown exterior and the brick over gave the crust a great crunch while keeping the dough nice and chewy. It really held together and it filled me pretty good. Was really inexpensive.

All the hype created high expectations for me - and this place didn't live up to it. Nothing wrong with the place overall, but the service was mediocre, and the food options were limited. I want to have an Italian Beef sandwich. They also use the same beef on a couple of other dishes, including a signature sandwich featured on Triple D. This was an early dinner on a weeknight, and they were completely out of the beef. That's not so great. My wife had the Picante Shrimp pasta dish and I had the Porketta sandwich. Both were okay, but not that memorable. Not trying to rip the joint, because someone else might have a much more favorable experience. We will try it again in a few months. If it is a better experience, I'll be sure to report back.

Homemade sauce with our secret mix of seasonings. Dough that's made fresh every morning. Specialty meats and real mozzarella cheese. The sounds of crisp crust being cut into perfectly sized squares. That's what you'll find in the kitchen at Sammy's Pizza
Our previous experience (and review) was outstanding, but this time was disappointing. We arrived about 1:10 for the noon buffet that is advertised as lasting until 2 PM. Probably because there were only a couple of tables occupied, the pizza was never refreshed, and we had to make due with luke-warm pizza sitting under relatively ineffective heat lamps. Another quirk is that the soda machine, which elsewhere is "self-service" was off limits for self-service, and we had to try to get a server's attention for refills. Due to lack of customers, he mostly hung out in the entry room, not the room where we were sitting. At its best, Sammy's is a very good pizza place, but be aware that in the last 45 minutes of the buffet, there may not be fresh pizza.

The Olive Gardens is always a great place to eat. This location is no exception. We were welcomed at the front door by a very friendly and courteous hostess. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. Our meal was excellent. The spaghetti and meat balls make a great meal.

Food was very good. Service was meh: must have been a new server because she never removed any of our salad dishes, bread basket, empty glasses, etc so our tiny table so full it was nearly unmanageable. The worst part was the terrible restaurant management! We called days earlier for a reservation since we were going to be dining there the day before Grandmaâs Marathon but were told they donât accept reservations. When we arrived, we were asked if we made a reservation! After a bit of âdiscussionâ we were given a small table in the bar area. While we were there from 4:30ish to 6:00ish every single table in the restaurant except about five were unoccupied with âreservedâ placards on them while other people were lined up at the entry and eating at the bar. Now when I say bar, I mean a 5-stool 6-foot long area next to the entry. When we left, still the restaurant was still nearly empty.Makes me wonder how many customers walked out and makes me wonder why we were stuck in a corner at a tiny table with people watching us the whole time (waiting for our table) because there were only 3 available for NON-reservation customers while there was a restaurant rife with unoccupied tables for the 1 1/2 hours we were there. If it werenât for the food being great, the experience would have made my birthday pretty lousy.

My wife and I ate here on a trip to Duluth. It is located down near the famous bridge. They have an incredible wine list. They found a very nice wine for each of us. The food was really good. We will go back, if we are in Duluth again. The service was also very good. The seating is fairly close. You can hear other people's conversations, but we had a really nice time.

We love Pizza Luce, no matter the location, but the Duluth location is our favorite! We arrived on a Thursday night with a group of six and were seated at the avocado table. I had called two days before hand and requested a reservation and we were promptly seated upon arrival, even though we were a little early. Our waiter was fantastic! He recommended samples of beers and when I inquired about garlic bread coming with my salad, he made sure to throw in a few slices for me. He checked on us often, kept our beverages filled, and assisted us in selecting from the menu. They have a lot of craft beer options, all of which the waiter was very knowledgeable about. We inquired about Lienekugal selections as they are just across the border, but the restaurant does not carry them (according to the waiter it is due to an issue with the distributor not wanting to supply the brand at any of their locations). Other beers ordered were of all local craft brew varieties and were enjoyable.I ordered the Greek salad as they make a fantastic one with large portions. The other five split a large and a small pizza perfectly. We were there for my husband's birthday and they offered him a free beer for the occasion. We will definitely be back to this location any time we are in Duluth and will also visit the other locations when we are in the Twin Cities.

Indoor-outdoor Italian eatery with an inventive, from-scratch menu. Family owned and operated, we're not your nonna's trattoria. Located directly above the Lakewalk, overlooking beautiful Lake Superior, Va Bene features Duluthâs best lake views of the Lif
Our party arrived early for dinner to score a table for four in the enclosed solarium and we had a very nice view of the lake, anchored ships, and the Canal Park Loft Bridge in the distance. The service and ambience was great and we enjoyed the pasta dishes recommended by our server. We finished with 4 different flavors of Gelato to top off dinner. Then off to the Lake Walk just below the restaurant for a walk at dusk. There were a lot of folks waiting for a table. They donât take reservations for party sizes smaller than 5 so arrive early if you want one of the coveted Solarium tables.
