When Benihana first came on the scene, decades ago, it was an amazing restaurant chain. Great food, good service. This past Friday we had a reservation for dinner at 7:30. It was my son's BIG 30 birthday so it was a very special occasion. I made the reservation on Open Table, 7:30, 3 people. My son was adamant that he did not want the hibachi tables but definitely wanted the main, regular dining room. So, when I made the reservation I was sure to put that info in the request box...MAIN DINING ROOM PLEASE! When we arrived 2 minutes before 7:30 the check in person refused to seat us, I questioned that ruling, was told after re asking the question a couple of more times, everyone in the party has to be seated so the chef could prepare everything at once. Well! That was the clue that my instructions had been ignored. Hibachi table requirements. Yikes! At that point I questioned her if she had my request for a main dining room table...eventually another person came over when she saw that there was a problem. I had to repeat my request yet another time...the manager (I assume) then put the blame on the Open Table site saying that on the Benihana computer the request box was cut off. So eventually we did get seated, the server must have been having a rough night, made a few mistakes with the order but was very pleasant. In an hospitality business the greeter always sets the tone of the establishment, which sets the tone of the event. I would have overlooked all of that if....IF the food had been good. I was very disappointed with my meal, as was my wife. Bottom line...very disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant. We understand this was a special celebration and sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your recent experience in our restaurant. Please reach out to our team via www.benihanalistens.smg.com/. We would love to follow up with you concerning this visit.

The best part of this restaurant is and always has been the fact that you can prepare your food from fresh ingredients and have fun watching it be prepared in front of you. On top of that, you can get unlimited returns, which makes this an excellent stop for those who are hungry. It's fairly easy to avoid items with gluten in them, although when the food is being prepared, you may have to ask them to clear off the grills or ask them to use a separate grill and that they do not use the house sauce as it has wheat in it. Even so, it is absolutely a fun time and the food is delicious. The fresh vegetables are a huge plus. Other than that, the place has no problem being accessed by the handicapped. Sustainability ratings are more than likely low as they are sure to be using products that are not locally bought and are from industrial farms. Even so, it's worth the trip! I no longer live in Minnesota, so I miss having a place like this near by.

This place is walking distance from the Embassy Suites hotel where we were staying and so we visited for dinner. Then, after dinner, another couple joined us for drinks there as well.As to the food, I only had the dumpling (pot sticker) appetizer, while my wife had a Maki entree. Both were OK (but nothing special).Drinks were standard and service was pretty decent (as were the prices). But the one thing that I hatedâand that would keep me from ever returningâwere the booth seats that caused me to feel like I was sitting on an airplane with a kid kicking my seat back from behind. In other words, the seat back was so weak that when the people behind me shifted around, it caused me to be bumped-around in my seat. I hate that and would never return to subject myself to it again.

My husband and I, and another couple wanted to try this restaurant for dinner in the Mall of America. We arrived a few minutes before the end of their happy hour specials and ordered some items from that menu as well as the regular dinner menu. The server was friendly and explained what the âgummiesâ are and I ordered their most popular version of the drink â a ârainbow gummiâ â that had mixed berries and hibiscus. We shared two orders of salted edamame and spring rolls with an awesome dip that tasted great! I had firecracker sushi with crab and my husband chose quail eggs wrapped in bacon. Our friends liked everything they ordered including miso soup, fried-and-breaded green beans and firecracker sushi without crab.

We've tried dim sum in so many large cities, but always come back to the Mandarin Kitchen as our favorite place. We always arrive early, standing in line 15 minutes before the restaurant opens to make sure we get a table, plenty of food variety, and the freshest dim sum they have. It can get extremely busy and the wait time can get long if you want to eat on Saturdays and Sundays around the lunch time, but the wait has always been worth it for us.The only "negative" I have with this place is that I never really know how much I'm paying per dish. They always ring up the ticket unitemized, and I always just hand them my credit card. We aren't in the Twin Cities often, so I don't mind spending "whatever" on a dim sum meal for my family of 4...Don't be afraid to try a dish that's off the menu while having dim sum, too. They will cook it immediately and bring it right to your table.

We were disappointed with this evening meal overall. Previous trips to this restaurant had all been very enjoyable. We ordered an appetizer of chicken lettuce wraps. It was delivered to our table with lettuce that was brown and had holes in it. This was a very noticeable unsightly blemish that never should have been served to anyone. It was a quarter of a head of iceberg lettuce and went down through several of the leaves. Asked server for replacement lettuce which arrived promptly. We ordered two entrees to share. Kung Pao Chicken and Combo Fried Rice. Both were tasty and we enjoyed eating them but noted both of them were drier than normal. The Kung Pao Chicken had no sauce at all on the bottom of the serving dish and the individual ingredients were dry. The fried rice could have been left with more moisture in it. The server was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was fine but we felt the food was not up to the level is was previously.

This is an above average Thai restaurant in south Minneapolis. Located in former 1950s themed diner, itâs not very remarkable from the outside but it's nice on the inside. The décor is tasteful and they have nice plants and pictures of tropical Thailand. The staff is very friendly and helpful if youâre unfamiliar with Thai food. They certainly donât shy away from the spice so it can be very spicy/hot. I recommend being on the conservative side until you know how they cook. A little on the pricey side with entrees mostly in $13-$16 range but the portions are pretty generous to balance that out. Food was served extremely fast, arrived less than ten minutes after we order it. Everything was hot and freshly made. No one had any complaints about the food or service. They have a Happy Hour (3-6?) with beer, wine and appetizer specials. Parking can be a pain when theyâre busy. The small parking lot out back only has about twelve spots.

If you want authentic Italian food with good service, then Broders will not disappoint. The pastas are made in house daily and both entrees we had ( linguine with clams and linguine with Parma ham) were well prepared, nicely presented and delicious. Save room for deserts, they were fabulous also. The restaurant is busy, but get there either early or late because they do not take reservations.

CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar is a fine dining restaurant chain that serves up a vibrant and diverse menu, fresh sushi and an award-winning wine list in a chic and energetic setting.
IMO one of the best places to eat at MOA. Service is always very good. Food is very good. I don't have a go-to food, because we have something different every time and I can't think of any disappointments. Also like several of the craft cocktails.
