I went there for health reasons. I started with the vegetable and fruit diet. The food was really amazing, especially considering the limitation of food. Possibly as near to fine dining as you can get on this particular highly-restricted diet. The quality of vegetables was very high and the cook was brilliant - we had about four dishes in each meal and I ate the best tomatoes I've ever tasted in my life, so even a simple dish could be great. I wasn't hungry, but I did however find myself sleeping all day, so I changed to the 1200 calorie diet, which was nice enough, but I wish in hindsight that I'd stuck it out with the vegetable diet as it takes time for the body to adapt to it. I enjoyed the swimming pool and saunas. There was no Jacuzzi, but my package included two hydrotherapy treatments and one massage. I don't recommend the massage at all. My visit included a water workout every day, which was very good, though a bit early (8 a.m.). There were outdoor exercises too, which were very good, but I was just a bit lazy and most days we walked to the beach instead - which wasn't far. English is scarcely spoken in this town - German is the second language, so I will brush up on my German next time. One of the receptionists spoke some English and I got by with my Google translator, plus I was holidaying with two Polish friends, who helped out a lot. The staff were all lovely. It's a fairly small hotel, which I prefer, so in a short space of time everyone seemed to know I was English. The owner visited on our last day and spoke to us (he knows English) and his aim is to have the best food for this diet in Poland. It is the same as a famous diet by a Polish doctor, but for some reason it isn't on her site. I visited a similar spa earlier in the year, where the food was a bit bland and repetitive and Willa Alexander is in another ballpark, so I think he may well achieve his goal.

I was expecting the worst and got the very best! What a great experience. A friend's b-day party was there last month and I was really surprised how good the food was, the service and the rooms. A little hard to find. I got lucky when I pulled over to check my GPS and just happened to be in their parking lot! Really nice owners/staff and great coffee. Close to beach and just an all around nice property.

We arrived late afternoon and asked the lady receptionist what time they served dinner. 7.00pm until 10pm was her response, so we took our time and then came down at 7.00 pm for a pre dinner drink. On arriving into the dining room and ordering our drinks, the waiter told us that the dining room was closing, as the cook wanted to go home. They were quiet and reluctantly we gave them our order. The comedy then began. Firstly their draft beer pump was out of action. So we ordered bottles instead. Not an issue. Then one main course pizza arrived, which came before any starter. Next to arrive was a starter, a minute or two later. Bread was only provided after we requested it, to accompany our starters. Next came the second pizza before finally the first starter. The waiter was apologetic and to me seemed very embarrassed. Whilst we having our final courses we ordered more beers. As we are on holiday, we thought it of interest to try a different beer and ordered a brown beer instead. When the waiter opened it, he found it full of water not beer. It appeared to be a display bottle only. We therefore asked for any other beer they recommended. Sorry .... They only have the one bottled beer. As we drank our beer and finished our drinks they started to close the restaurant. Switching the T.V. and some lights off. Finally just to make sure we got the message, when we asked about a dessert, they told us they didn't have any. This was the worst dining experience I have had for many years. How do they get away with it, if other people are treated similarly? Now to the accommodation. It was very good and included a place under cover and secure, to store our bicycles. Whilst the hotel does not have a lift it has well lit stairs. For those arriving by car there is a good size car park. Our standard room had both a balcony and sea view. It was clean and had both plentyful electric sockets and good Wifi reception. The only issue we had was noise from an adjoining room, where we felt part of the gentleman's mobile phone calls. However the whole hotel fell silent long before midnight and noise was not an issue. In summary given it's excellent location and good standard rooms we would like to stay here again. However that will only be the case when they have resolved the issues in their dining room.

Fantastic ambiance, charming owner and great staff combined with local and fusion cuisine. Outstanding herring tartar! Rooms are clean and neatly arranged. Distance to the beach just far enough in order not to be disturbed by partygoers - but a sheer 5 mins stroll. Strongly recommended. PS. Small dogs accepted! :)

To sum it up : This is a pretty looking resort which is lacking basics and has no atmosphere at all. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures as nice interior is all you will get. The good: Very clean hotel, modern decor, we really enjoyed the water bikes on the lake which is available to hotel guests for additional charge. The bad: No lifts - had to carry my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. No air con - Temperatures outside were around 26-29 degrees during our stay, our room was like a sauna. It was extremely unpleasant. When we asked if there was anything they could do to help us cope with the heat the response we got back was no. Only after complaining they actually provided a small fan which was better than nothing. The breakfast buffet was OK, however the flies everywhere were very off-putting. Dinner was served between 5 and 7pm, we got there for 5:45pm and there wasn't much left. When we asked if more food was going to be brought out they said no. It was not until a few more guest complained that they brought out some salmon, however it wasn't cooked properly. The staff seemed demotivated, both in reception and the restaurant. The restaurant supervisor was on his phone leaning at the bar every time we were there, not only giving a bad image but also looking like customers inconvenienced him. One possible explanation might be the owner herself who walked around the guests with her chin up looking unfriendly and unapproachable, not only to the guests but to her employees too. This also applies to the cleaners who kept the place very clean but are lacking basics - as per the photo attached to this review, in the morning we would see clean nicely folded towels laying on the floor by a bin ready to be put in the rooms for the guests. There wasn't an hour during our stay where we could fully relax in our room, mostly due to the unbearable heat and noisiness as the hotel is next to a funfair. (loud music all day) It's a shame, I really feel this hotel had potential, it was certainly the nicest looking hotel I have stayed in Poland, however it didn't meet the basic needs of guests which was a big let down for me. Therefore we would not recommend Marina Mielno to anyone.
