Gävle [ˈjɛːvlɛ] is a city in Sweden, the seat of Gävle Municipality and the capital of Gävleborg County. It is the oldest city in the historical Norrland (Sweden's Northern Lands), having received its charter in 1446 from Christopher of Bavaria. Surprisingly nice!We went to Gävle for a couple of days of holiday. Arrived late Sunday evening and almost everything was closed.. This gem however was opened.. At first glance it looked a bit shady but since it was the only place open we popped in for a couple drinks. The service was friendly and the prices humane. We ended up coming back each evening during our stay. A big plus for the chefs knowledge of gluten allergy. We had our dinner here one night and they did a really great job at accommodating gluten free!! :-) the food surely delivered on a much higher level than the first impression indicated. Can really recommend a visit! Nice drinks, nice prices and really nice food! Try it!!

The food is definately good and the service is good - unfortunatly the place has some local residents that drink more than they eat. Sometimes the place is great, sometimes you just want to leave right after having your food...

I have been a few times both with family and friends. This place is located on "söder" in Gävle and is small and cozy with friendly staff, and great for just having a drink at the bar or for a three course dinner with nice wine. The winelist is better than most places in Gävle, as they can offer premium wines by the glass, and nice pairings for your dinner. Last time I had lovely fresh oysters, duck foies gras and steak tartare which were all well prepared and with lovely wines to go with each dish. The menu is small (as it should be), and changes seasonally. I would highly recommend a visit, both for enjoying the food but also the atmosphere and great service. Perhaps booking in advance is a good idea as it is not a large restaurant. If you can´t squeeze in for dinner, just pop in for a drink at the bar which is connected to the open kitchen.

If you are in for something different than the traditional restaurant this saloon is the way to go. Located 2 minutes from to the city centre, it is the perfect place to go if you are really hungry or up for just a drink.Great restaurant, great selection of food. The plates are huge, the food are delicious, but a bit pricy, but worth it just for the experience.But beware, the place is a hotspot, and gets crowded pretty quickly, so be early if you don't want to stand in line waiting for a table.

We stayed at the Elite Grand Hotel Gävle and we booked a table here since it is the only restaurant in the hotel. The food is good and the hamburger is actually one of the best i have ever eaten! I would recommend to order sweet potato fries as a sideorder because they are absolutely delicious. The food is a little expensive but it is worth what you pay for!

Had a great meal here. Really good service and nice cold beerStaff were very attentive and have to say service was excellent. Lots to chose from what looks like a continually changing menu. It does get busy and we were lucky to get a table so would be worth reserving.
