If you want an authentic experience, I highly recommend Bardia Kingfisher Resort. Jack, Pratap, and family are fantastic!! I ended up staying 2 extra days and sure am glad I did - saw a tiger on my original departure day!! So worth it. My inquiries were responded to very quickly. From the time I arrived at Nepalgunj airport to my departure, I was completely cared for and couldn’t ask for anything more. The jungle experiences (walking and jeep safari) and feeling like part of the family can’t be beat. My meals, prepared by Anju (Pratap’s wife) were incredible - I want cooking lessons next time. Accommodations are comfortable (not luxury) and very reasonably priced! And there’s no one I’d rather be with in the jungle than Jack. Thank you for an such an amazing experience - looking forward to my next visit!

Racy shade is a jungle lodge near Bardia national park in Terai region, west southern Nepal. We offer safari activities : Jeep, elephant back, boat and above all walking safaris. Our jungle is the home of elephants, rhinoceroses and tigers. We speak french english spanish nepali and Hindi.
We are thankful to Racy Shade Resort for fulfilling our dream of seeing a tiger during our jungle safari. After just two hours, within 50 meters, we saw a tiger. We were mesmerized when it emerged from the bushes. It was massive. With its saffron colored and strong black stripes and moved with majestic grace. Our guide Mukti Ram Rijal led us safely behind it in silence and with respect for around twenty minutes. The team and hospitality of the resort was so good that we need to keep coming back. Once was not enough! Thank you to Kamal Bom, our trusted driver, who took us to this resort and took such good care of our family of multiple generations.

We pride ourselves in giving our guests the complete Bardia wildlife experience. At our resort you’ll find an assortment of traditional Tharu-style cottages set amongst beautiful landscaped gardens designed to mirror the Bardia National Park and which provide much of the organic produce we use to cook delicious Nepali dishes all year round. The many birds that fly over our garden and the surprise visit from wild animals have almost changed our resort into a park itself. Rhino lodge was absolutely amazing! The room was clean and the staff was so friendly! Warm water and cold AC, not to mention a comfortable bed. I was so pleased with the breakfast service, the garden, and everything in between! It was very close to the Bardia National Park entrance.

We stayed in the two story building. The room was excellent and different from what we are used to. One night we could hear drumming and singing coming from the village. It was peaceful and made us feel we were part of the local scene. The first two days we were there by ourselves and the staff were overly helpful. Our guides were very friendly, knowledgeable, and determined to make our experience memorable. The food was what we expected, wholesome and filling. Our three days in the national park were long, and we experienced long waits along the river watching out for wildlife; which will reward you. We saw a rhino, crocodiles, otters, jackals, owls, several species of deer, languir and macaque monkeys, many birds and insects; and on the last afternoon a royal bengal tiger! On our last morning we rode some bikes around the local villages and joined the children riding to school.

Bardia Eco Lodge is an eco-friendly and carbon-neutral wildlife lodge located in a beautiful riverside setting in Bardia National Park in Nepal, very close to the park entrance. It provides an environmentally sympathetic and sustainable destination for tourists, which also benefits the local community.
Staying at Bardia Eco Lodge made this experience memorable. The balcony view of the park is simply amazing! One day we are having lunch and a group of Elephants appeared just in front of the balcony. The room was very clean and had all conditions such as a fan, mosquito nets, toilet and shower and soap. It has a veranda outside where we ate breakfast with a beautiful view of its gardens that look like a jungle. From the veranda, we saw a wide range of birdlife. The location of the lodge is incomparable, as you have the park right on the other side of the road and the entrance to it in a 5 minutes walk. It is also very easy to go to the village to buy groceries. There were fresh drinks available and the meals were always prepared with local vegetables. The staff was all-time charming and attentive and the guides were very experienced. During jungle walks, they told us everything about safety during the experience, like what we should do in the case of every situation. They were also very good at spotting wildlife with made the experience even more interesting. We've done all jungle activities with Bardia Eco Lodge and loved them all. Rafting is incredible because is very peaceful and you get the feeling you are not disturbing the wildlife, almost as if you were invisible. During all activities, the guide carried a packed lunch and also fruits to eat during the stops for observing wildlife. The manager of the lodge, Madhu, is wonderful and we'll never forget how well he treated us.
