Reviews on Italian food in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. Morelia (Spanish pronunciation: [moˈɾelja]; from 1545 to 1828 known as Valladolid) is a city and municipality in the north central part of the state of Michoacán in central Mexico. The city is in the Guayangareo Valley and is the capital and largest city of the state. The main pre-Hispanic cultures here were the Purépecha and the Matlatzinca, but no major cities were founded in the valley during this time. The Spanish took control of the area in the 1520s. The Spanish under Viceroy Antonio de Mendoza founded a settlement here in 1541 with the name of Valladolid, which became rival to the nearby city of Pátzcuaro for dominance in Michoacán. In 1580, this rivalry ended in Valladolid’s favor and it became the capital of the colonial province. After the Mexican War of Independence, the city was renamed Morelia in honor of José María Morelos, who hailed from the city. In 1991, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved colonial buildings and layout of the historic center.

We had lunch. The menu has few options; they focus on pasta. Food has a good taste, quantity is just adequate. Few optios for dessert.
This restaurant is in a lovely setting and it has a fine view of Morelia. The food was spotty with only a couple of dishes that one could call excellent. We all particularly liked the shrimp carpaccio which was one of the best starters any of us had ever experienced. The pasta dishes had pasta that was properly cooked but each of the three were done with spaghetti with no finesse in choosing the right pasta for each specific sauce. The âfetuccini Alfredoâ has mixed with cotijaâ cheese and was a reinvention gone bad! I think the crema was Mexican crema, not cream. The sour cream flavor mixed with the cotija cheese tasted like a muddy mixture. We had ordered a particular white sparkling wine. And we were asked by the untrained waiter if we wanted it cold or at room temperature. ???? Duh! Sparkling wine at room remp, are you kidding??? Then we waited for 30 minutes or so while it was allegedly chilled. Then some manager came out and said we couldnât have that bottle and that we had to have the rose version of the same cecause they couldnât sell the white version at the menu price. So we waited another 30 minutes or so while they tried to chill the second bottle. Meanwhile our dinner was 2/3 over and we had no wine. So finally we cancelled the Rose and ordered the house white wine, which was sub standard at best and way over priced for the quality.Otherwise service was attentive and servers were plentiful. It is too bad they obviously had little training in fine dining. This place could be excellent with a manager that really had a training program to teach about wine service and a bit more finesse in the kitchen. I hope they do improve over time.

Enjoy the delicate taste of italian food in a casual and relaxed ambiance.
It is a small family-run restaurant, prices very attractive, food portions more than adequate, food taste very good, friendly environment and very good service.Thank you for your kind review.

We went to Paoletto following the suggestion of a friend and because we wanted to eat some Italian food (I am from Italy)! The owner is very nice and explained us the menù. We decided to try one pizza and one pasta. Good pizza dough and good ingredients on top fairly big portion, the pasta was great and it is worth to ask for the cheese upgrade (original Parmesan for only 20 pesos). At the end we ordered also a Tiramisù and it is fantastico (I am really picky about Tiramisù as I can do a good one myself)! We will be back soon!ThanksLuigi Thank you very much for your visit and for leaving a review. We wait for you soon!

Any Pizza I've had here, has been really good, the personal recommendation is the pure cheese pizza (4 or 5 different). Also, waitresses are very kind with their suggestions. They have a free parking lot in the back street with direct access to the restaurant.

Only fresh and instant working food, no services the sauces for respet the ingredients. QUA SI MANGIA ALLâITALIANA.
This review is written mainly for Morelianos because travelers in Mexico most likely will be enjoying the great Mexican cuisine. At Luca Cocina Italiana, the ambiance, aromas, and flavors of Chef Luca raise the level of the ristorante to the quality found in New York City. The wood-fire pizza is crazy good. The crust is allowed to raise overnight and once baked, is crispy on the outside and fluffy and tender inside. The salads, pastas, and desserts are mouth-wateringly good. The Meringata dessert it particularly wonderful. Luca Cocina Italiana is only open Friday â Sunday so reserve your table early to make sure to get your table. Thanks so much mr. Pat, always iâm happy to work for a great customers how you.

Let me start off by saying that I am not a thin crust pizza fan, however this is one of the best thin crust pizzas of my life! The crust melted in your mouth. The sauce was flavorful and the homemade sausage and pepperoni were muy rico.I stopped earlier to check out the menu and met the co-owner (wife). She speaks English! and very nice. While dining, she remembered me and came to see if I was pleased. Nice touch. Her husband (co-owner) also came to speak with me. Again, nice touch. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with warm colors, artwork and children playing. If you tire of the delicious Mexican food in this town, come here!

I have been going to eat there since they opened and it has never change its quality and good service. The salads are delicious combines with the great homemade dressings, but the real treat there are the pastas. As a true pasta lover, I dare to say this is the best pasta in town. It's a very small place, so during the weekends it's better to get a reservation or arrive before 3:00pm. Prices are very fair, the only down part is that they don't accept card payments.

I have been walking by this place for years but never went in until now. Something about the troje look put me off. But, come to find out, the interior is comfortable and just dark enough to make it romantic. The troje at the sidewalk is bright and cheery. The food is delicious. We enjoyed the fried parsley especially. The little gratis breads and potato salad and saucy eggplant plates they bring to the table when you sit down are worth the "price of admission." Servings are attractive, delicious, and service superb. I happily recommend Emiliano's to anyone and everyone.
