For a long time I had to resign myself to travel to southwest Detroit or Toledo to quell my cravings. (Never fear, I'll still go to meet friends!) But now I have found Angelina's. The food is always fresh and authentic, which is why there is almost always a wait for an open table; their new expansion should fix this. I found out about this spot by word of mouth. One of my family members' coworkers -- who is Mexican -- asked her to stop by this spot to pick up lunch on her way in. It was so impressive, she called me and told me about it. I have since brought many friends and church members with me to try it out, and it's become the new "go to". Enjoy!

A sign in the front of the store said 99cent Taco Tuesday. I went in and ordered 4 Soft Tacos. The gal said that will be $8 and change. I said, um, the sign outside says 99cent taco tuesday. She rudely said, that's for hard tacos only. I said, oh, I didn't know that. Just give me 4 hard tacos then. She rudely said, let me see if you can change your order! She came back and said we'll let it go this time. I almost walked out then but I got the tacos. After eating them I wish I would have walked out. There are WAY better Mexican restaurants in the area and they don't treat you poorly either.

We had dinner last night and it was fantastic. It started off on the wrong food with the basket of chips being so stale we couldn't eat them. Sent it back and got a new one that was fresh and crisp. It was great. We had shrimp tacos in deep fried flour shells, chicken tostadas, the steak with cheese all over it. All three were great and the beans and rice that came with each was moist and flavorful. We tried the churros which came as an order of 3 with caramel and strawberry dipping sauces. YUMMMM We also had the strawberry cheesecake chimichanga and it was delicious. Definitely will be back!!!

I have a cheese intolerance that manifests as migraines. A three day and night constant, painful migraine mind you. That's why I make a point to purposefully tell a restaurant it's an allergy because that's a word they understand. I often times go into a fast food restaurant instead of the drive thru so there is no confusion. Tonight was no different. I was pleasantly greeted by lovely cashier. For less than $2.50 I went out the door in just a few minutes with my hot order in hand ready to devour on my way home because I was several hours past my last meal. Needless to say, a few miles down the road and a few delicious bites into it I realize that they put cheese in it! Come on people! When the order correctly says Fresco and I reiterate no cheese because of an allergy, what do I need to do, come over the counter and make it myself? And so a other painful 3 day migraine will begin any minute.

Got takeout for 4, was 50 dollars. Ordered large botana, had no chorizo, huge pieces of veggies. Not worth almost 10 bucks. Forgot the rice and beans for a carryout special. Family dinner and everything was outstanding. Carnitas and enchiladas were delicious -----flavors great. Rice and beans both cooked well. Many items on menu not seen in typical american mexican resturants. Service was really good too. Great atmosphere. I'll be back.

We used to dine here often but the food & service went downhill & we hadnât been back for a year. I had a gift card to redeem & invited 3 friends to meet for lunch. We had a MISERABLE experience. The mgr attempted to make things better but even her intermittent follow up wasnât enough to salvage the event. Thank goodness for the new host, Elijah - his customer service was wonderful & he paid a great amount of attention to our party to try to improve things. The chips were unbearably salty & we were told we couldnât get them unsalted. The corn was very soggy. We requested BBQ sauce THREE TIMES & never received it until we finally got some to go. The music was way too loud, making conversation difficult, & it was never turned down after our request. Ashley, our waitress, was argumentative & rude from our first contact - she clearly had a big chip in her shoulder about having to wait on tables. She gave us incorrect info about coupon redemption & we asked to speak to the mgr who gave us totally different info. We heard her telling the next table that they were âway out of her service areaâ because she was the bartender, so she might not be around & they could try to flag down the mgr if they need something!! We wanted the check split 3 ways & she even screwed that up... Her service was so bad that I didnât tip her & Iâm usually a 20%+ tipper! Instead, I gave Elijah $4 & my friends added $2 to that. We were here for lunch on a weekday and even with their $8 & $10 specials, there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. This is a place that used to be packed all the time - we often left because we didnât want to wait for a table! They clearly need new management & staff or I donât picture them being open much longer.Hi there, we sincerely apologize for this. We took our son and grandson out for a late dinner. The wait was average but the food was fantastic! Server tonight was ok but distracted. Her friends were seated at the table behind us and she sat down with them to chat. She seemed a little too casual.She took longer than usual to bring us chips and salsa when the table next to us, seated after we were, received there's first. Our dinner came out more quickly.
