At one time, this use to be a very good restaurant, no matter when you went, always had to wait. Many changes throughout the years, and not for the better.

Beautiful view of Elk Lake in Gladwin, MI, off M 30. The food is simple but delicious. I recommend the pizza and burgers. One of the few places you can get deep fried green beans. The drinks are inexpensive too. Very friendly place off the beaten path.

I have been in the lounge now 3 times. Had a great hamburger, good soup and a good sub. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember her name. We were in on Wednesday nights around 5

My husband and I stopped by Saturday October 18th on our way home. We had taken a back road, with very few places to stop. We saw this restaurant, took a chance and went in.The waitress was friendly, professional, and attentive.The restaurant has many specials offered during the week, Saturdays was stuffed cabbage rolls.They were truly delicious! With the meal came REAL mashed potatoes and rolls. TV sets allowed us to view the Michigan State football game, and the other patrons were also friendly and into the game. Plenty of parking right outside the restaurant. Windows allow you to view the street or your car.They have entertainment on the weekends. The restaurant is very CLEAN, new décor, and bar area. Spacious yet intimate. Only downside NO Desserts! They have to offer at least apple and cherry pie, the restaurant is in Michigan (home of lots of apple and cherry orchards)Otherwise a great place to eat right in Gladwin!

A recent re-model has brought this neighborhood bar into a new era. The woodwork is beautiful and creates a warm feeling. The Hi-top tables are my favorite seatig, but there are group tables as well as bar seating. The food is excellent. Not your typical bar food. Great pizza and sandwiches with grilled buns. It's a favorite destination for our weekly dinner out with friends.

I ordered a Take-Out Pizza for the first time from "The Hearth" and I very pleased. It was ready for me in 15 minutes; it had the right amount of Cheese, pepperoni and sausage. The sauce tasted great. They have priced the pizza at a good price. In the past I have had to travel five miles to get great pizza. One recommendation I can give is they need to have a separate parking spot reserved for a customer to walk-in and get a take-out pizza.The other thing that should be considered is having a delivery service to any Butman Twp. address or just Sugar Springs.
