My husband has dreams about their chocolate eclairs. They are the biggest, most delicious eclairs you will ever find. My favorite entrée there is their Rueben. It is served open faced with red cabbage instead of sauerkraut and it is huge. They always have reasonable specials and their food is home made and fresh. My advice is to take half of your food home so you will have room for dessert.

Coming through on a long motorcycle ride, I stopped in here for a hot bite to eat. I have been here before and in the past, it has been a good "truck stop" type of place with decent food, good portions, and good prices. Sadly, this visit did not go as well.
I sat at the bar near where another man was eating. A waitress greeted me and brought me water, silverware, and a coke along with a menu. I perused the menu and sipped my coke while the waitress proceeded to stock the counter and chat with the other workers. I tried to make eye contact a few times and even raised the menu up a couple of times. I did get a nod from one of the other guys who was chatting to my waitress near the pick up area.
I finished my coke and waited a few more minutes before finally getting up to leave. I threw some money down to cover the coke and expressed my frustration with not being served. The waitress didn't seem concerned at all, so I left.
I was very disappointed in that this place has been good in the past and I was very frustrated with the lack of service, especially when sitting at the bar close to the staff and kitchen. It will be a long time before I return.

Stopped in with my family for coffee and donuts. The staff was fast, super friendly (even on a Sunday morning) and everything was awesome....can't wait to go back!

A quick detour off of 81 south and the food is exactly as promised, homestyle diner... all excellent. The highlight was the homemade potato chips! Our family of four had a Rueben, tuna melt, Turkey burger, and chicken fingers. Pleasant and prompt service in a tidy quaint environment! Our only disappointment was all of the dessert pies were sold out! We'll be stopping again!

By far the best Ice Cream in Oswego County. Service is always fast and friendly. You might want to order a size smaller than normal though because they are very generous with the portions. The nutty buddy sundae is the best.

The Eis House has proudly served Central NY since 1977. The Trimble family acquired the business this year and plan to preserve the tradition while developing new offerings. While we are well known for our award winning garden weddings and receptions, we offer a wide range of services seldom found at a single location. Chef Zach's daily gourmet chalk board and weekly value specials satisfy a wide variety pallets and budgets.
Probably been going to Easter brunch her for 5 years. Mid way thru new owners took over. Last year not real satisfied but said we would give them another try this year. Less pleased than last year. Took away the Turkey last year and this year took away the ham. Really, no ham! Very tough roast beef and lamb, which we don't eat. So, unfortunately we will be looking for another place to have our family Easter gatherings.

Conveniently located between Syracuse and Watertown, New York, directly off interstate exit 34, the Mapleview Family Restaurant continues to be a main stay for local patrons as well as hungry travelers. As part of the family of businesses owned and operated by the North Shore Oil Company for over 10 years, the focus of the business has always been to offer delicious, home style meals at a very reasonable price providing great taste, portions and value. The Mapleview Family Restaurant is open 24 hours a day, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner by a friendly, welcoming service staff that truly appreciates you as a Guest.
The food is true truckstopesque, the variety defies accurate description, the salad bar was under stocked and some selections appeared to have been frozen, overall service was so so, food was so so, so my review is so so.Nunya, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your feedback and we hope that you will give us another chance to impress you in the near future! Best, Matt

The food is pretty good, certainly what we ordered (sandwiches, fries, coleslaw). Coffee is average. Service was great - friendly, competent, non-obtrusive, and the waitress we had went out of her way to be helpful. Value was on target: you get what you pay for, with the small extras (seconds on the coffee, pickles, lettuce - tomato, etc) that are always appreciated. Atmosphere was a bit off, but mostly because the decor is starting to show its age in places; on the other hand, slightly-worn upholstery means the place gets quite a bit of business, I suppose!

If you are in the Mexico, NY area or looking for a place to stop along your drive try the Black Creek Cafe. It was the perfect place to meet my friend and linger for a long visit. This place has a wonderful combination of relaxed atmosphere, good pasties, and choice of coffees. I had a delicious raspberry- chipotle filled crepe and my coffee cup was never empty thanks to the attentive owner. There are also locally made crafts on display for sale and an area for kids - a doodle table for kids or adults. Loved this place and will be back again!
