Erg Chebbi desert Merzouga camp is located south of the Tafilalet Valley. It hosts real sand hills amid which oases, palm groves and vegetation nestle in the folds of dunes. Hiking in the desert is done either by camel , that is to say, between the dunes, or walking on the crest of the dunes. Equipment and luggage is transported by camel trekking. Once at the bivouac Desert Berber Fire-Camp, time is available to discover the unique atmosphere of desert with his silence and colors.Camel Trekking Tours All of our camel trekking tours develop a complete nomadic way of life experience. This includes: a nice camel ride through the dunes, a welcome tea after the sunset, a local dinner under the stars, sleeping in a Berber tent and, of course, the magical and unforgettable sunset and sunrise over the dunes.
It was great experience to stay in this tent at the Sahara desert. Even the washroom in this camp is very clean. Staffs are friendly, smart, considered every details: meal, drink, camp fire, music, sandboard, sunset, breakfast at the sunrise, will not be bored. Well planned excursion for tourists. January night in the desert is cold, but we had warm sleep with four layers of blankets. Don't miss camel ride if you come. Bravo, thanks a lot. Super value of what we paid.

Booked a one night stay in the desert through Maison Merzouga. Lachen did a great job arranging everything and was flexible and very accommodating given our tight deadlines. What an incredible experience! Omar, our desert guide, was great company and prepared a delicious dinner. We were very cozy in our tent. The next morning we showered and had breakfast at Maison Merzouga. Wish we had booked some time here to relax! The hotel is charming, the staff exceedingly friendly. We were served a huge breakfast.

Dar el Janoub (The House of the South), a project that is a dream come true, a dream that began many years ago when, as travellers, we were fascinated by the discovery of the landscapes of this land and the hospitality of its people. To share this adventure with our guests and make them feel that that this is their own home (in the south) brings, to us, the greatest satisfaction.
Beautiful Hotel on the edge of the desert! Great location, terrace with a view that you never get enough of it. So peaceful. Super nice staff and delicious food. Rooms are very comfortable and the swimming pool...oh, everything you need for a relaxing stay.

A family run establishment in the heart of Merzouga at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Hotel rooms, camping cars, campground, camel treks, desert bivouac, excursions, and tours of Morocco.
Ziad was our primary host and I have never felt so welcomed and looked after. The food was excellent and he would bring as endless amounts of Moroccan tea. The experience itself was truly one of a kind. The (permanent) tents in the Sahara where the beds are were very nice but I dragged my mattress outside and slept under the stars. The camel ride was, needless to say, incredible. I specifically picked this Sahara experience because it was run by a local family and their tent set up was not in the huge valley of white Sahara tents that is normally overrun by people. This way my experience was much more tranquil. Ziad and his family even played some traditional Berber music on the drums and (attempted) to teach me some :) Thanks for everything guys

Hotel Ksar Merzouga offer you the rooms and suites with decoration in "Saharan style" with modern comforts such as A/C, 24 hr room service and views of the dunes or to the pool. The accommodation in Hotel Ksar Merzouga is part of your whole experience in the desert in the south of Morocco. The decoration of the different options of accommodation in the Hotel Ksar Merzouga is a fusion of the traditional aesthetic of the south of Morocco with the comfort you are used to. The bedrooms of the Kasbah Ksar Merzouga open to a common garden and are perfectly integrated in the whole complex of the hotel and its facilities, including the dining room, and the hypnotizing pool and just few metres away from the hot sands of the desert. The staff of the Hotel Ksar Merzouga are all fully involved in the running of the hotel and the desert excursions so they certainly offer a seamless experience. Guests staying in this remote area are automatically reserved on to half board basis.
Stayed one night as part of a tour. WOW, what a beautiful hotel and what incredible dune views in the morning. Unfortunately we arrived late at night and had to leave reasonably early in the morning so we really didn't have the time to fully enjoy this beautiful hotel. Our room was wonderful - large and comfortable and so interesting in decor. The outside surrounds of the hotel - its gardens, pool area and the reception area at fabulous and behind the dining rooms are the Sahara steps dunes - beautiful to visit just before dawn break to watch the sunrise. We had both dinner and breakfast here and both these meals were fantastic. some of the best hotel food we had on the whole trip. If I came back to Morocco and visited this area, I would definitely book back into this beautiful hotel.

Welcome to Kasbah Du Berger in the desert of Merzouga. Our hotel is located right at the edge of the sand dunes in which you have access very easily and freely. The project has large rooms with air conditioning and private bathroom without forgetting the largest pool in the region! We offer a varied cuisine, homemade dishes, camel excursions (sunset and sunrise in the Sahara dunes.) Outings in 4x4 for the discovery of Merzouga and its surroundings ... Thank you for choosing our haven ... you will never regret it.
This was our favorite riad stay in Morocco. Our room was large, cozy, and warm (heater works great in the cold of winter). The owners were so kind and accommodating. One evening they started a fire in the fireplace while we ate dinner to ensure we were warm and comfortable. The food is incredible, try the citrus chicken tagine and the couscous dish- they were so good. The view of the sand dunes is superb, as is the night sky of stars. I highly recommend Kasbah De Berger.

After having been to the Sahara for the first time in March 2019 and staying at a luxury tent campsite I knew this was not the Sahara experience I had envisioned. After doing extensive research I decided to book a week at the Riad Aicha which is located next to Merzouga and perfectly situated for exploring. Riad Aicha provided all of their insight into helping to plan and see this most extraordinary part of the world. For me personally every time I leave Morocco I leave a piece of my heart somewhere but this time I left a huge piece of my heart to Moha and Ibrahim and the rest of their family who own and manage this authentic family owned Riad. I am already planning to return in 2020 to their Riad for further adventures with them. From the simplicity of their rooms, their attention to making all of your adventures come true, and the delicious food could only be better if I could stay for one year. We had lunch with Moha’s and Ibrahim’s family. Moha and Ibrahim had tremendous patience as we took pictures everywhere, went four wheeling in the dunes, climbed the highest dune, went to remote places in the Sahara, climbed glorious mountains, had a picnic in the Safi Safi Oasis and many other adventures. I felt like I was with great friends going through this wonderful land. Thank you to both of you, your family and friends for being there from start to finish and making this extraordinary adventure come true for me. Your compassion and sense of humor will never be forgotten.
