The Yucatan capital has both colonial and Mayan treasures to discover. Nearby ruins at Uxmal give some insight into the lives of the predecessors of the conquistadores, who arrived in 1542. Mayan culture is also still evident in Merida's daily life and in the many colorful festivals celebrated here.

We felt safe and our room was cool and quite comfortable. The inn was peaceful, clean and very attractive inside & out. The owners and staff were pleasantly attentive. However mosquitoes may have come in through the open space under the door

When we first arrived to Merida from the airport, I was not super impressed with the outside of the hotel...However, the inside of the hotel and the rooms are lovely. As others have said, the courtyard is beautiful, and the breakfasts were so enjoyable. The bar wasnt open during the week in April that we were there, but they would get us a beer if we needed one, so maybe bring a bottle of wine if you want to enjoy a beverage in the evening. Also, I would recommend bringing a bag of Nespresso pods, as they only give you 2 for free and you have to ask for and pay for more, which is annoying when you want to enjoy a few cups of coffee in the morning on your own. Walking to the city center was quick and safe, about 4 blocks away.

The hotel has a beautiful common space, but the rooms don’t seem to live up to the same quality. I had the top-end suite with the private rooftop and dip pool, but found the room itself mediocre with no view. The lightbulb over the mirror was missing, RFID electric outlet in bathroom didn’t work, pillows on bed were uncomfortable —overstuffed and hard. The closet doors had no handles just tiny holes that you had to put your finger in to pull open that caught me a few times at the wrong angle and bruised my fingers. The bar in the closet fell off with all the hangers when I first went to hang my clothes. Desk in room is too low for working on laptop without hunching. Shower head has never been cleaned, its stuffed with mineral deposits from the hard water. The AC worked fine but could probably use servicing since I ended up with a throat infection since it blows directly on the bed, and at the lowest speed is still a bit loud and aggressive. The breakfast was mediocre. All this being said, the staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful. I won’t be returning, but the hotel has a lot of potential.

Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The owner Leo speaks several languages and will guide you to cultural sites, museums, and restaurants upon arrival. Towels for beach available! Rooms clean and cool. Breakfast available (which I did not realize until my last day when I saw someone served and a menu taped up on a wall!) I enjoyed delicious coffee and croissants none the less! Would stay again.

A small colonial luxury hotel in downtown Merida Yucatan with a colorful garden, pool area with chair ans unmbrellas area . Every room has a phone, air conditioning, spacious bathrooms and toiletries, restaurant with american breakfast included, internet in all theproperty, safe boxes and parking lot with extra charge per day. Enjoy the charm of a colonial home without giving up the conveniences of modern life.
We stayed for a night. On arrival the welcoming was cold. I am mexican and know how hospitality service is always friendly and warm, not in here. "check in time is at 3 but if you want to have your room now (1pm) you can pay extra" we said no thanks and waited in the pool area which is nice. The room was big and modern and very comfortable. But the bathroom was not very clean, there were stains of a "quick just throw some cleaning product without rinsing" and there were hairs on the shower drain (see photos). When reported to the main desk the answer was "mmm ok thanks for the heads up" no apology nor they sent someone to clean up!! I had to ask TWICE to front desk to send us someone to clean which they reluctantly did. Breakfast is just ok, the eggs were soaked in oil, (see photo) . When we made the suggestion to use less oil the waitress gave us a cold stare said nothing and left. We were surprised by the bad attitude of the staff, no sense or intention to take care of the guest. On the good note it is a nice hotel (skipping the hairs part) in a great location. But at this price I am sure you can find same facilities and better service.

The comfortable when it comes, The Ambassadors Hotel is your best option, our excellent team of collaborators will pamper you at all times, to make your holiday the best.
This hotel has some quirks! The keycard needs to be activated daily because it deactivates itself. The open plan of the hotel makes it wet on a rainy day to walk to your room, slippery tiles everywhere. The next door (hotel)restaurant has live music which is very noisy and makes sleeping early impossible. But the rooms are ok. The shower is good, the wifi is fine. Parking is in a public parking behind the hotel, close to the restaurant entrance. Upon check-in we had a misunderstanding about the price, we booked through booking and they wanted us to pay more than the bill of booking stated, we arrived soaked wet (we ride motorbikes and got caught in the rain) check-in took forever due to the bill argument and misunderstanding, and it had to be sorted out before we could take a shower and get ourselves into dry clothes. We just stood there waiting and waiting while dripping water........Not my kind of hotel. A bit overpriced and the staff is far from friendly. The COVID rules apply but really I would not trust them with my health. We cleaned doorknobs, light switches, they do not overly clean so to speak.

Hotel Mérida is a colonial style property located in the historic center of Merida , a few minutes walk from major attractions, parks and churches. Remodeled with contemporary touches, the hotel has a large central patio with outdoor pool.
The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Merida. The service is very good and the facilities are nice too. The breakfast that is included in the rate is served at the Fridas Restaurant that is around the hotel and is a basic breakfast with eggs, beans, juice, bread and coffee. What I liked the most is the location, as you can easily walk to all the important places in the center of Merida, such as the Santa Lucia Park and the Central Square. Good value for money. Rate is $50 per night approx.

The hotel is in a beautiful old building, it has a great location to the centre of the city. However, it could be so much better, the rooms are ok but definitely need an upgrade. The shower was a trickle with no hot water at all. A real shame because this could be lovely if the fixtures and fittings were upgraded and care taken with regards to the overall look.

Relaxing and quiet boutique hotel in the Centro, one block from Paseo Montejo. Offering eight unique rooms in three different buildings with privacy and quiet yet within walking distance to numerous attractions, cuisine and nightlife. Property offers beautiful pool and louge area, fully equipped kitchen for guest use, dining area and living area with Wi-fi and television.
My only hesitation about leaving our friends at Casa Flor De Mayo a good review is that I don't want it to be 100% booked for my next trip! Honestly, this place was perfect. Beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. Comfortable, clean, and everything you need. No TV, but that's not why you are there. The location is great. Two easy blocks off the Paseo. Walk to Walmart, Colon ice cream, Parque Santa Ana and great places like Casa Chica and many more. But the best part is by far and away the staff. Fred and Edgar treated you like friends. The owner, Matt, was also very personable and knowledgeable. The folks that fixed you a delicious breakfast every morning were always willing to offer advice or just have a conversation with you. It is hard to imagine what could have been better. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it was very relaxing to hear it. The AC was cold and the Internet warked well enough.
