Memphis is a pilgrimage for those wanting to visit the birthplace of the blues, of soul and of rock 'n' roll. On Beale Street, W.C. Handy put down on paper the first written blues music. Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash all recorded at the historic Sun Records, which is now a museum. Graceland, the second most-visited home in America, welcomes visitors from around the world who yearn for a peek into the life of "the King." Beyond the music, Tennessee's largest city also offers much more. It has more sunny days each year than Miami, and combines southern tradition and hospitality with modern amenities. You'll enjoy great dining (be sure to sample the barbecued ribs), art galleries and exciting nightlife.

In the heart of "Blues City," you'll find The Peabody Memphis, a magnificent Forbes Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond historic hotel.
This is a beautiful historical hotel, and an absolute must visit especially to see the famous ducks they come down at 11am and back to bed at 5pm but get there a good 30 mins before to see the ceremony. I didn’t have kids and I absolutely loved it!

We stayed at the hotel on a Newmarket tour, we arrived the 3rd June left the 5th of June. On the way to our new stop over I suddenly realised I had left four new items of clothing hanging in the wardrobe, I immediately informed my tour guide who rang the hotel. Lovely , tho some staff where a bit moody and boarding on rude, for instants the girl on their equivalent to Starbucks who could even be bothered to get off leaving on her elbow while punching in your order. Being a hotel manager of 17 years in a London hotel I understand that not all staff meet the standards that are required for the quality of the establishment. I was informed by my tour guide that nothing was found in my room ? I told her each item and room number 392 she checked again no there was nothing ! About £250 worth of clothing suddenly could not be found ! Now I know maids can put things in safe places or on their trolley and forget to hand them in. I have been trying to contact the senior services manager for 3 days after my return and as to yet no returned phone call, I have rung 6 times and rung when I was told he was there but he never seems to answer his phone or his messages. Iam will keep trying but the longer it takes the less likely it is to find my items. So if you do stay at this hotel please remember to take everything with you ! Because it seems that even clothes can go missing and not found let alone really valuable items like jewellery etc. If my items do miraculously appear I will follow up on this review, but from what I gather from my tour guide I don't think there is much hope. Such a shame, that it put such a blight after visiting somewhere I had always wanted to go, all I now is a very sour memo.

From the time we entered the hotel we were immediately greeted by an amazing concierge named Rocky. Rocky couldn’t have been more helpful, kind, and full of life. He was extremely personable, like we had known him for years. It was like talking to a friend and catching up. I knew we had selected the perfect place to stay for our first time in Memphis. He made sure we knew where to park, helped with our bags, and filled us in on the must go spots. Then he walked us to the hotel bar where he introduced us to Abby, the bartender. Abby not only made us the best Lemon Drop we’ve ever tasted, but she too was so friendly and kind. She let us know great stops for coffee, bbq, breakfast and told us about an artsy area close to the hotel. Both her and Rocky’s Memphis recommendations were amazing! The hotel itself was beautiful but Rocky and Abby made our stay all the better. I can’t wait to stay at Hotel Napoleon again and to see Rocky and Abby!

The motel charged my cc $451 of unauthorized charges. Bill was supposed to be billed to my corporate card and only use my CC for incidentals. Which there were none. I have called the motel multiple times and was told I was speaking to the manager and they would look into it or they would transfer me to leave a message. I have called IHG and the 3rd time I called IHG I was told they spoke to the manager (Michael) and he told them that he spoke to me and a refund was issued. I have never spoke to a Michael nor have I received a refund. The last 2 times I called IHG they put me on on hold while they would call the motel, both times they told me no one answered their phone. Today IHG recommended that I call the cc company and dispute the charges. Which I had called them 2 weeks ago, which this will take months to do.

I booked this hotel for one week. Overall we had a good experience. I paid extra for a higher, quieter room, and had to pre-pay, for the whole week. We travelled from California. What a surprise it was to find earplugs in our room, and the sigh on the counter. Again overall this was a good place to stay. The staff was excellent. This is NOT the place to stay, if a person would like to sleep until. After midnight.

only issue was the sink drain not operating as designed and no confirmation on reservation via email. I also noticed that there was no closet in the room to hang clothing which I found odd. Other than that the room was quite nice

The only thing good that would would rate as very good was that the beds are comfortable. The worst thing is that room 221 when you go into the bathroom and shut the door you will get locked in and someone else from the outside has to open door. I am a grown adult and couldn’t get it to open from the inside once I pulled it closed. It seemed to catch on top like unevenly hung. Very unsafe for elderly and single travelers. You can see from the wear and scrape from the top panel that this door has been doing this for a long time now. It’s bad to have to bring phone into bathroom just to make sure you can get out. Second complaint, breakfast food was poorly cooked and biscuits were rock hard, scrambled eggs were brown from being in tray too long. Only thing I would rate as very good was a pancake machine. Bananas had tons of black spots and bruised. Like bought on reduced aisle at store and ready for banana nut bread black banana style. Cut off bruised area and lost 1/3 of banana. No meat for protein just eggs, all sugary and packaged stuff so for diabetic or those watching nutrition only healthy item for protein was over cooked eggs. When using the elevator to bring down our stuff from 2nd floor the elevator beeped like alarm beep and closed extremely slow about an inch or so. The kids looked at me and said you think we will get stuck. It beeped the whole time about 6-7 seconds to close and was extremely delayed in closing. We did make it down but something isn’t right with that elevator. The only ice machine that anyone staff could direct me to wasn’t turned on said Full bin yes/no? I pushed button and nothing. Told front desk and he said would go fix. 45 min nothing. Go load up room which gave an hour to make ice and said Full Bin yes/no again. No ice. Talked to front desk said oh sorry we just took out ice. So why would you not have ice for all the outgoing customers that are traveling or 75 minutes later still not have a small Cup of ice. I wasn’t trying to get like a cooler full just enough in a quart bag to keep Our travel food cool. Front desk seemed to not understand or not care. I asked if another ice machine in building and he asked you need ice machine in room?? No ….where is another ice machine? Your room number? 221…Nevermind. Went back to my room asked floor attendant cleaning rooms and she was on her phone leaning on wall and said only ice is on first floor. So beds comfortable but don’t sleep in room 221 or you can be stuck in bathroom. Each time someone went to use bathroom had to leave gap open so not locked in. When showering I closed door and took my phone in just in case everyone fell asleep. Can you imagine someone elderly on oxygen getting stuck, or a young kid by themselves how scared they would be. This door is a safety issue and needs to be addressed other than front desk nodding head like he didn’t have a clue what I said. I will be making a complaint to corporate and code compliance to ensure other travelers do not get locked in bathroom.
