The Guesthouse is managed by its owners, Karim and Siti, who are very lovely! The location is great because it is very near to the center of Melaka and the breakfast is basic and very good (includes coffee, tea, toasts, butter and jam). The room and the whole Guesthouse was very clean. We had a wonderful stay in Melaka because Karim and Siti were always willing to help us. Thank you very much for make us feel so comfortable! We'll miss you.

Yote 28, a modern youth hostel in Melaka with a friendly and international atmosphere. The hostel is strategically located in the heart of Melaka City Centre, walking distance to all the major attractions (Jonker Street, Stadthuys, Victoria Fountain, Christ Church, St. Paul Hill & Church, A’ Famosa, Melaka Riverside and shopping centres such as Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade).
This place literally beats a typical hotel. The environment is super cosy and everything is well-maintained. Everything is squeaky clean. The guy who runs the place, Terence, is the best host ever. Very accommodating and meets all your needs. Definitely a stay that's worth your money!!!

At budget friendly prices this is as close as you can get to a tastefully done-up hostel near Jonker's street - a mere 500 metres away - without having to pay Jonker street's prices. Although the premises are "not on the water" it is just a stone's throw from the riverside. The surprise was the inside. I went with three friends and and at this price point for a hostel, we got more than our money's worth. On the ground floor is a separate reception area where your card key only allows access to the upper hostel floors. Upon ascending the staircase we were surprised that the interior spaces were quite large. There was a huge common room / coffee area for the backpackers to chill. We took the largest available room with the 4 double deckers in anticipation for a few more friends who might decide to crash with us later. It can fit 8 comfortably with large storage areas under the bed. Out the door is the common wash area, more than ample with rows of numerous shower/toilet stalls. Each shower stall has a commode and towel racks and the stall locks for your privacy. Like I mentioned earlier, the interior spaces are surprisingly large, and shout-outs to the owner/designer to make this into a large-living budget hostel. The other plusses were the beddings. Nothing felt "hostel" here but more like a 3 or 4 star hotel. Dare I say the smooth white sheets are made of thousand count Egyptian cotton? Two firm yet fluffy pillows are complemented by an equally fluffy comforter that would soothe the tired traveler after a walk around town. The mattresses are top notch too. In short the owners did not skimp on the rooms to ensure travellers will be well rested. We shall return!

Room size is alright for 2 persons. My room has no window and we had to ask for toiletries. Nearby to the Sentral bus terminal, Tesco and Aeon. Eateries around the hotel too. May need a car to move around.

And all because of reception guy, inhospitable and rude. We even "didn't step into hostel" and faced unprofessional behavior of staff, exactly reception guy who was standing behind the bar. He continuously repeated that good ppl don't do like that: book, come but don't stay. He said that we shouldn't book instead just come and see the room, despite the fact that most of rooms were available. First of all the room doesn't look like it was described on booking website, second I would never stay with inhospitable staff like in that hostel. Unprofessional, rude, zero hospitality, he spoiled first impression of melaka people. Never recommend!

Staying genuine to the needs of a true adventurer - Nomaps transcends any local hostels around. Guests can experience a stunning blend of timeless heritage and contemporary interior design, while staying in comfort. Situated in the heart of Malacca, it is a hidden gem in its own right.
Our family got stuck in a tiny room, we could not even put our suitcases on the floor nor access the tap. the worse thing was the alarm that kept ringing each time one of us would go out to the bathroom for instance, a real nightmare from start to end!!! The breakfast was really disappointed too, nothing of the snacks mentionnes, only industrial bread and black tea/coffee

Stayed for one night, 3 pax. One family with one toddler. Location is good near dim sum restaurant. Room size ok, receptionist ok. No phone in the room. And no lift. But I guess that's why the price is competitive.

Second time back at the hostel, this round with friends and this hostel is the best for value + amenities. Affordable rates + affordable beer + near to the Stadhuys and Riverside were one of the best parts of staying here.

A hostel with a whole lot of difference. A rare holiday/traveler's experience. A unique and exotic interior with a friendly, warm and comfortable atmosphere followed by a peaceful feeling of perception. Now offering travelers a "budget discount" on all rates or tariffs. Worth a try and less on your expenses!!!
Picking up from the earlier/recent review, I'd like to add that one of the auspicious thing about Jonkerdee Hostel is that, if your life or world is lacking in colour or sparkle, rest assured you'll be dazzled by a Kaleidoscope effect which produces changing reflected patterns by DAY and by NIGHT like an AMBER exposed or unexposed to light. Subconsciously this day and night pattern or effect will mirror different pleasant personalities and distinctive characteristics or qualities in you as it does with the Hostel and her profound Host/Owner. The other auspicious alternative is that in an environment that's predominantly Chinese oriented with most of the businesses owned or run by Chinese, presides a business solely owned and operated by a Non-Chinese, most surprisingly a CAUCASIAN man or gentleman. I found it rather refreshing to acquaint with someone who exhibits a different way of thinking, different cultural attitudes and characteristics,as mostly in Malaysia you'd commonly find the regular Malay or Indian run businesses among Chinese or vice- versa. Jonkerdee Hostel is a great place to exchange different views/opinions as well as increase one's knowledge in other areas other than the communal ethnic or religious believes and traditions we might have. A good place to find yourself thinking "out of the box". As for the Hostel and her appraised Host/Owner, there's nothing else I can say that hasn't already been said by many, many of Jonkerdee's guests, "GREAT AND EXCELLENT". I'll say this though, when I return home, I'm going to do something about my home, incorporating some of the practices, cleanliness, hygiene, some of its decorative ideas and other conditions I was simply just amazed with. I'm intrigued that if Jon Kerdee @ Andre can do something astounding on his own, then I'm convinced I can too.

Yote Flashpackers,is located in the historic city center of Malacca which surrounded by prewar architectures buildings. All the most interesting and tourist attractions are within a short walking distance, passing through little streets full of charm and history.Experience your stay with Yote Flashpackers which offers you a cozy accommodation with traditional Malay cultural concept guest rooms.
I spent just one night in this place but I found it strange. The receptionist was never there and he wasn't helpful at all. The bathroom was weird, it felt as if it was located in the technical room. I paid for a hostel with breakfast included but there was no trace of breakfast, even tea was missing! The only one good remark I can think of is very good location.
