Hotel Woodland hill stay is undoubtedly one of the best Hotels in Shillong. It is located in a beautiful quiet residential area which is centrally located with easy access for transportation, market, hospital etc. within walking distance. It has the best view of Shillong. It is well furnished in a homely themed, stylish and inspirational manner, with all upscale accommodations. 5 Double Rooms are in the upper floor with a hill view from there windows. 1 Twin room is in the ground floor with a hill view from its window. And the last 2 rooms are in the ground floor with budgeted rates. Woodland Hill Stay features a terrace with few table and chair and a lounge besides the entrance. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, an electric kettle with complimentary tea and coffee and a private bathroom with supplies. We offer complimentary buffet breakfast as well. Nice stay option in good location. We wanted to avoid police bazar location. Hence stayed at woodland. Nice big clean room with garden n open air restaurant. Service staff is superb. Young boys n girls are managing the property. Really good experience although bit costly.

Quaint hotel and very calm. A small garden in front of most rooms makes the view pleasant. Room was quite spacious and well maintained. Balcony was good for coffee time and light snacks. Bathroom was good and toiletries were provided. Room had a big wardrobe, an iron box and ironing table. Our room did not have an AC but there was a ceiling fan. Breakfast spread was very limited to a dish or 2. At the price we paid, the spread could have been more than this. And they did not have any fresh fruits or fruit juices. In terms of food, they need improvement. Garden and garden restaurant is smaller than what it seems to be in photos on many websites. Staff were reasonably courteous after talking to them well. Hotel is located on a steep road. Very tough to walk.

Nestled in the foothills of evergreen pine forests, this quiet resort is your ideal family home while visiting Shillong. Centrally located, close to the National Highway and adjacent to the Lady Hydari Park and the Crinoline Falls & swimming pool.
Good hospitality. Friendly staff. Prompt service. Hot water available. Clean rooms. Concierge desk. Rates are good. It was a good experience overall. Many POIs in walking distance. No complaints. I'll recommend.

Aisha guest house sohra is located at the heart of cherrapunjee and its one of the highest peak where u can enjoy the panaromic view of the whole sohra from our terrace. We provide with the best and most comfortable and relaxing stay.the best part is that the owner only prepare the food and let our guest enjoy our traditional food.
The good - Rooms are of decent size, considering this is a guest house. The room and toilet were clean and so was the linen. Despite the guest house being in the Sohra market, it has parking for a few vehicles within the premises. The food and service are good but as another reviewer here mentioned, service starts late. We had a problem with the tea kettle in our room and I came down to the reception at 8 am to seek help. Staff was sleeping on the sofas and the kitchen was yet to start! The not-so-good - This was our first visit to Cherrapunji and due to a heavy downpour, we were late by a couple of hours in arriving from Shillong. By this time, it was dark and because of the rain, very few people were out on the road. We lost our way within Sohra. We spent almost an hour running around in circles within 3 kms of the property, trying to locate it. The GPS kept misguiding us. During this time, several frantic calls to the guest house remained unanswered. Later, the guest house told us that they never received any calls due to a poor network! The guest house runs on a very tight inventory. Be careful while placing your pre-meal orders. It's likely you will not get a second helping. We had ordered Poha to be served in breakfast the next day. The portions were average and we were still hungry. They ran out of bread after serving us three toasts! We feel the guest house is a little overpriced, leaving scope for bargain. As I mentioned earlier, Aisha is in a market and you step out into a lane with buildings all around.

Had a wonderful stay. Clean large room with comfortable bed. Less than 5 minutes walk from Police Bazaar. Courteous staff and prompt service. Reception and Dining room is very small. Had to wait for half an hour for breakfast as the tables were taken by a travel group. Breakfast buffet was good except for south Indian dishes. TV remote was barely functioning.

Apsara Guest House is located in a quiet residential area and has spacious rooms with all modern amenities for a comfortable stay.
For Shillong, it has very large rooms. The bathrooms are well equipped. But the table in the room is small and difficult to work on. There is no tea-coffee maker in the room. There are some meeting rooms available for free in any short meetings have to be held. Breakfast is a very limited affair - with no fruits or juices. While lunch and dinner can be ordered there is not much variety on offer. The service offered is limited to what the staff can handle rather. than finding ways of meting customer requirements.

Stayed for 4 nights in a single room in end-April, 2018. Both the receptionists and stuff were friendly and well behaved. Took suggestion about local cuisine on arrival. The room was quite small, but was enough for a single traveler. Amenities: 1. TV with cable connection. 2. Water filled steel jug, one glass and a ash-tray. 3. One hanging cabinet. 4. One mini soap, one mini-pack shampoo. 5. Geyser - ask the room-service how to operate. Room rent was very reasonable compared to cleanliness and behavior. I started from Center Point down towards G.S. Road and this hotel seemed perfect for both single or group travelers and families. 1 minute walking distance to Center Point, check Google maps. Most of all, it was my first hotel on my first solo tour and end of the day I was satisfied. Points to be noted: 1. No Air Conditioning. Actually not needed one because of the weather of Shillong. 2. No WiFi. I took a sim from local market with 1 GB of data connectivity.

Hotel with 4 floors having a small restaurant on 4th floor. Very clean & tidy a/c rooms with required amenities are ideal for family stay. The ( 24x7 ) front desk staff on 2nd floor is very cooperative & helpful. Breakfast was complimentary & North Indian type. The food was also delicious. Enjoyed our stay along with family in the hotel for 3 days .

This review has been long due. I had seen the pictures online and the reviews were good. The reality is so far from the truth. Apparently, the pictures are taken with a wide-angle lens. - The room I stayed in was so tiny. The washroom sink was smaller than my head. - It had a fake balcony. All balconies are fake with painted iron rods outside the wall. - I moved from the tiny room to the suite. I stayed 7 days and not even a single day there was house cleaning(no changing sheets, towels, garbage) because they do not have any staff other than one receptionist - There is no in-house kitchen staff. Breakfast is contracted to an outside person who often arrived late. Bread and egg is all you get. = Here is the kicker part. The tiny single room cost Rs 2500 and the suite Rs 5000 per night!!!

We are two families and booked two rooms in this hotel for new year’s eve as we could not find any other hotel. 1. The rooms are so small that you can’t even walk comfortably. 2. The towels they provide have stains all over and if you ask for extra towel, they give you tiny napkins - the ones that are placed in the bathroom doors to wipe your feet. Stinky and disgusting. 3. The blankets have stains and when asked they said those are burned stains. Looks bad and I don’t know why they still keep them. 4. They close the shutter of the hotel by 9:30 PM and you have to call them or knock on the shutters for them to open it for you if you come after 9:30 PM… and they take their own sweet time to open these shutters while you keep standing on the road in the chilly weather waiting for them to let you in. 5. No parking for vehicles and the whole area is so shady that even if you park your car on the road - there is no guarantee for your vehicle or its parts. 6. On the day of our check out there was no hot water. It was terribly cold and there was some problem with water heater. They were providing hot water in buckets for those who are still staying but since we were checking out, they never bothered about us. They did not provide hot water and they did not even feel sorry or apologise. Worst behaviour with the customers. 6. They charge you before hand for any extra things that you ask like mattress/bed etc. These items will be provided only if you pay the amount before hand. Never seen any hotel charging for these things beforehand. We have taken an extra bed and the quality of the bed is worst than a one star hotel. 7. No toiletries. They don’t provide brush/paste or anything at all. 8. There are no fire safety measures or directions. God forbid something happens, there is no way to escape. When we raised all these concerns, they did not even bother to answer and never even felt apologetic. They simply did not care. Overall, you will be cheated and the service they provide you for the exorbitant prices they charge is terrible. I will never recommend this hotel. There are better hotels in this area. Stay away from this place.
