If you want to propose to your darling go somewhere else. The dining is nothing fancy, but the food is very good. We had a large green salad Euro 6,90, crispy fried codfish with risotto and vegetables Euro 20,90, all washed down with a German pinot gris Euro 8 and a large Radeberger Pils Euro 4,90. We ate there a year ago and the food was as good as last time. The service is attentive and unobtrusive. We do recommend this restaurant.

We had dinner here one night. First of all, the restored hanseatic dining hall is truly stunning and I would recommend visiting this restaurant once just to experience it.Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't keep up with the amazing surroundings.Service was patchy - some friendly, some absent-minded. From one waitress we received seemingly condescending responses to minor language misunderstandings. It may have just been her general demeanor. We were on a set menu. The soup was carelessly presented without any garnish. I had ordered fish but got meat, but ate it anyway. The tafelspitz was ok but didn't seem to have much in common with the original version. My husband was satisfied with the vegetarian curry but it was mediocre. Dessert again was very average. Wine was below average.Perhaps they didn't care because it was a set menu and you fare better here with a la carte. But they didn't advertise themselves enough to us to dine here a second time.

It is a nice place where to eat and chill. Directly in front of the beauty Barbour and with a location that should be renovated, it looks like a nice fisherman's ship, that give to the restaurant a touch of essence. The fish is good, that could be make it more comfortable and be a 5 sterne fish restaurant

We had lunch here. The location near the waterfront is excellent. The staff was very nice and easy to talk to. We enjoyed the food but felt it was pretty expensive, especially for lunch. It also seemed to be a good place for getting a hot drink since we saw many people come in for that purpose.

This restaurant is away from the shopping and harbour areas but we would certainly recommend booking here, especially at weekends. It is a typical German restaurant, exposed wood and a well amongst other features. The food was good, our schnitzel literally covered the plate. It is also very inexpensive, another plus. The beer was nice as well!

We had read good reviews of this place on Trip Advisor, and they weren't wrong. The staff was very accommodating, even finding us a waiter who was fluent in English. We had very good beer, and then a wonderful dinner to go with it. The service was excellent, and we were even lucky enough to sit next to a German couple who spoke English. We had a really nice time, and the couple told us that they come to this restaurant whenever they visit Stralsund. We would recommend it highly.

This restaurant is located in a former mayors house of Stralsund in the Old Market across from the city hall. The architecture of the building is very cool. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Our waitress went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Fish is definitely on the menu and the fish soup was great..although a little salty. But you know what they say you can never over salt fish!

Braugasthaus Zum Alten Fritz is situated some way from the centre of town, but can be reached by #3 bus (stop - Brauerei)The place is the Ausschank of the Störtebeker brewery so carries their full range of draught and bottled beers. The menu is pretty typically North German with a leaning towards fish and the standard of cooking is good.I had some difficulty in attracting my server's attention as he concentrated on the 4 blokes at the adjacent table - I guess it was just another instance of SDS (Single Diner Syndrome). The beer was good too. Anyone visiting in a group of two or more will probably give the place 5 stars.

We did not understand why people that came after us, and ordered after us, were served and had almost finished why we were still waiting for our food to come. However, such a long waiting time should be communicated, which was not the case. Strange, the food as such was pretty delicious.
