Prairie Du Chien, WI 53821 relatively new coffee house - nice web site - I enjoy eating there
What a great find in an historic river town! Set in an old building with exposed brick walls and worn wood floors! A nice variety of chairs and tables with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the signature Blackhawk Mocha after a satisfying lunch! There is a good variety of sandwiches and soups, the usual array of specialty coffees along with tempting treats to have with it!

Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch. Ordered a Bourbon Burger with chips and an iced tea. The burger was awesome and the iced tea was fresh brewed...not that lousy Lipton fountain tea. Waitress was friendly and brought refills without asking. No complaints...definitely recommend.

Our family adults gathered here at Jones Black Angus this weekend for a post Christmas get together. Our party of 12 were all pleasantly surprised by the awesomeness of this restaurant in Prairie du Chen. Its a quaint looking super club with an excellent staff, menu, salad bar and atmosphere. We all felt very comfortable at the seats at the bar as well as at the table. Everyone of us commented on how good the acoustics were so we could hear the nice music playing but we could also visit quite nicely throughout our evening. The vast menu and food were superb. So many choices and no one went away disappointed. I highly recommend this dinner club. Make a reservation as its very very busy. We drove all the way from Dubuque to meet our relatives from LaCrosse. Thank you for a perfect evening.

Big diner in the middle of nowhere. We stayed a local campground and got rained out. Refreshed our spirits to get a hot breakfast from a nice owner.

We were looking for a lunch place in the historic downtown of Prairie du Chien and came upon Fort Mulligan's Grill Pub. The pub is located in the Famechon Building that was built in 1885 from limestone remnants recycled from the decommissioned Fort Crawford buildings a little farther up the river. The building was a general store first and then a bar after Prohibition in the 1930s. An extensive 1999 remodeling exposed the 23-inch limestone Fort Crawford walls and original ceilings. It was opened under the Fort Mulligan name in 2000.
The pub was pleasantly full with locals (alway a good sign) during a weekday lunch hour. We ordered a Cobb Salad and Quesadilla, having had our fill of burgers and fries along the Great River Road. The Quesadilla was nicely done and the Cobb Salad deconstructed into diagonal lines of ingredients just the way you see it in a cookbook.
Service was prompt and polite, and the price fair for the items and area. Stop in to see the restoration and stay to enjoy a meal and brew.

The Riverview offers a great setting and home style hospitality. Great food at reasonable prices. Nice, new riverwalk park setting with shelter just out front.

Chicken wrap had moldy cheese. Mushroom Swiss had canned cold mushrooms. Items were priced very high for bar food. Bathroom was clean. Service was friendly but mostly unseen. But we choose restaurant for the view and location on River. Which is very nice
