We stopped in one night last week for supper...really great food and service!! The meals were fast and good. Beers where cold. Prices were right. Friendly staff. I had a club type of salad and it had lots of chicken and pulled pork on it-it was huge and so tasty!!! I could not finish it all. Wife had chicken strips of some sorts- I don't exactly recall but it was good. We will come back here for sure on our next trip! This is good food and good prices!!

After hearing about Braums from friends, we stopped in while visiting McAlester. The cheeseburgers & fries we had were outstanding and because we knew of their reputation with ice cream, we got shakes, which were yummy.
We enjoyed browsing thru the market & were very satisfied with our experience.

We were driving to Texas and needed some Java... And a bathroom break... And something to snack on. My better 1/2 found this on Tripadvisor and suggested we give it a try. It is about 5 min off the highway but SOOOOOO worth it. great coffee and muffins and the kids had hot chocolate. Clean and kind of hip.

Their wedding cake flavor is beautiful and almondy. Perfectly white and pure. Vanilla is great too, though the white chocolate curls are a bit much. Chocolate is not chocolatey enough for me- but the white cakes are beautifully done and have a fabulous flavor with appetizing decoration (no fluorescent frosting). Get here early, they go fast!

Quaint, quirky, quiet little soup, salad & sandwich shop in the heart of old town. We offer a variety of items with a healthy twist. We are one of few restaurants with a Heart Healthy rating. Venture off the beaten path for a meal you won’t soon forget. Don’t forget to let us know what you think!
I drive through McAlester all the time and had never seen this establishment. Well now I know why. It is North of downtown on Main St. It is worth the trip however. You have to come in at lunch. They are only open from 11:00...MoreThank you for coming in! We appreciate your business and hope to see you again soon. We apologize for the coleslaw having too much dressing and will address. Again we appreciate you coming in and look forward to seeing you again

It was right next to the Happy Days motel which gives you a $1 off coupon towards the meal. They gave me a retired military discount of a free beverage, nice touch. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcome from the waitress and behind the counter grill cooks. We had dinner and breakfast the following day. Prices looked reasonable though I thought a little higher than average. Food was OK, not great but not bad either. We loved the decor and you can tell they have regulars as we saw several greeted and evident the waitress knew what to bring them when they sat down. Would I try them again? I'd give it another shot for one of their burgers. the lemonade they had must have been on the bottom of running out because it was gawd awful

Best homemade desserts in town especially carrot cake. Fresh tasty salads, soups and sandwiches. Nice atmosphere in old Aldridge Hotel, a long time city landmark. Any catered meals they have done have been exceptionally delicious as well. Only drawback is having to eat with plastic utensils in the restaurant.

Stopped in here for dinner because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Old fashioned dinner. It is very small and only one table was available when we arrived. Kind of gives you the feeling you traveled back several decades. The service was good and so was our food. They have a lot of breakfast items on their menu, burgers, steaks, chicken, catfish, ect. The prices are reasonable.

I ate here several times and it was never my first choice for the day. Located near the Tandytown center where Carl Albert intersects the highway, it is generally always packed. The interior is inviting and parl
king ample.
Salsa is ok. Chips served heated but are a bit greasy. White queso is ok. Menu is large and Americanized. This is Tex-Mex in every way. The servers are pleasant enough but seating is cramped making their efforts labored. The cheese enchiladas, my benchmark, are relatively bland and the tortilla wrapping a bit dry. On occasions I was brought carry out, the order was often incorrect. Further, the food was cold and I know the person bringing it back did so within 5-7 minutes.
I do not like to leave negative review but in a town the size of McAlester, I can think of 4-5 better options for Mexican dishes and 2 of those are not specialty Mexican restaurants.

Steak ‘n Shake is a classic American brand famous for the Original Steakburger™ and hand-dipped Milk Shakes. Stop in today for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night. Dine in, drive thru or carryout.
The shakes were a little thin but tasty great. Our food took a while. I ordered the three mini and fries with each mini a different flavor. Only one mini was correct. I upgraded my fries to Salt and vinegar. These had very little flavor! My sister upgraded her fries to Parmesan Herb-very good!
